Don't want Mccarthy but I'm conscious of the lack of alternative options. His passing under pressure is pretty poor.

Veljkovic or Dier? Sissoko is box to box and won't sit well.

It looks like it's gonna be one out of Kramer, Rabiot and McCarthy if we can get one of them. They should be quite similar in price. To me, McCarthy looks like the safest choice due to premier league experience. Kramer is perhaps the most exciting and most complete player out of the 3. He's maybe also the least realistic. Rabiot looks like a bit of a gamble, but might have the highest potential. He's probably also the most straightforward deal. We just have to pay what they want.

Who would you prefer? I would be happy with either one, but I'd say Kramer.

It's never gonna be Kramer. Judy signed a contract extension, plays for one of the biggest teams in Germany, will be playing in the champs league next season and has never given any indication he wants to leave.

He uses EPL teams in Ultimate Team. Why wouldn't he want to be part of the action!?

hope it's not mccarthy, he's an average joe. sure he'll do a solid, dependable, serviceable job but at 20m he's about 10m overpriced and in a couple of years time there'll only be people saying we need better if we're to *cliché alert* get to the next level.

that said, i'd drive him back from merseyside myself if it was a choice between him and moussa sissoko.

I'd look at Lucas Biglia and Krychowiak for defensive midfield as Kramer seems a no-go. I would also try to go for Asier Illaramendi as he's basically Xabi Alonso reincarnated and Tielemans as I think he will be world class in a few years.

With Atlanta Yids recent going young comment, I would love for us to pick up this kid. Has been in the CL since he was 16 and has a nice range of passing and defensive work rate.

Because we don't have enough promising young midfielders already. Only Bentaleb, Carroll, Alli, Onomah, Winks, Miller, Amos, etc.

Would definitely take McCarthy but I have a funny feeling that Rabiot is the player we will sign.

The fact that he wants to leave helps us, and I cannot imagine Everton wanting less than £20m for McCarthy.

Kramer sounds great but it just looks so very unlikely that he'd leave a Champions League club for us.

Wouldn't mind that. I've only seen a Rabiot a few times, but he looks unbelievably classy for a 20 year old. One of those players that always looks like they have time on the ball. His positional awareness is decent too. It wouldn't surprise me if eventually he surpasses both Kramer and McCarthy, and I really rate Kramer.

I thought Stambouli looked every bit as good as Rabiot v Chelsea the other day. In fact Chelsea came back into the game when Stambouli went off and Rabiot came on. Just an observation.

What about Charles Aranguiz ?

I really don't know much about this guy, have only seen him play for Chile a handful of times, but has been quietly impressive when I have seen him, tenacious, dynamic, decent passer can play CM and can do box to box too ? And anyone who can flourish in Sampaoli's team has to be decent and disciplined tactically ?

He's just moved to Leverkusen apparently, but I agree he would have been perfect in my opinion

He was mentioned a few weeks back, he is a good little player. A shame if he has gone to Leverkusen but should do well in Germany with his tenaciousness. Reminds me a lot of a prime Scott Parker. I prefer the other Chilean midfielder Diaz, who I think is a real class act... But Aranguiz, as much as I don't like the cm2, would have been a nice fit next to Bentaleb.
