City Away last year - Missed an open goal
Today - Missed an open goal and a very good chance

It's all good scoring goals when your winning but scoring goals when your drawing or winning is the most important.

Time to get rid.

I've wanted to get shot of him for years, but I have learned that there is no hope. We'll keep him forever because he would only be sold for an outrageous sub and buying a new striker is expensive.

He literally can't aim. Well, he can aim anytime a blonde bimbo's laying down in front of him, but stick him in front of goal...

Seriously?

Equaliser against Newcastle, Winner against QPR, goal to put us 2-1 against Chelsea, 1st (and 2nd) goal against West Ham and first goal against Villa. He has been shit recently but he doesn't just score when we're winning, he just generally can't score at all at the moment.

when was the open goal?

Think he means the late save by Schwarzer.

Defoe was ahead of the defence, running onto the ball with the whole goal to aim at ... and in typical Defoe fashion he hit it straight at the keeper.

No he only scores in very small bursts and then goes long stretches without scoring and generally when he doesn't score barely contributes to the overall game.

He's rubbish. Great for goals v Wigan and Hull but how many important goals has he scored. How many times has he scored against a top four team? Hardly ever. Apart from shifting the ball a couple of feet and whacking it very hard, he has no ability.

Do you what really annoys me about Defoe... is that so many fans of other teams really rate him. Why...how many times in his career has he scored more then 20 league goals? How many times in his career has he scored against the big teams in big matches? How many times in his career his greedness cost us? How many times as he carressed a ball into the bottom corner?

People laugh at me at work when i tell them about a thing called the "Jermain Defoe Mentality" As long as i score goals, i couldn't give a shit if the team wins!

Lol Defoe may not be very good but he still did more in the few minutes he was on than that useless lanky streak of piss upfront

How can you miss an open goal when they were both saved by a goal keeper? Doesn't that kind of contradict the goal being "open"?!

All I can say was that at least he came the closest to scoring and a deflection could have fallen for us. He's the best out of two shit strikers.

I really was disappointed with his two strikes today, seriously the first maybe he can be forgiven for although it should have been better but the second was poor for me, it shows he has no poise or composure, just shoot on sight.

I really do hope we have a complete overhaul next season up front. Both Ade and Defoe should be playing for their spurs careers!

Berba scuffs it and it finds the corner. Defoe catches it clean and it hits the keeper, that's how it goes sometimes. I doubt Ade has had 15 shots on target this season.
