I adore dele, I think he's an excellent player when asked to do what he does best. For some reason we haven't accommodated that enormous talent and asked him to do more than he's capable of. When you have a player who has a knack for turning up at the right place at the right time, you find a way to utilise it. We haven't. Which is why I think most of you don't mind him leaving but I'll be very sad.

I do think the balance of the squad would look better if we could do:

Hojbjerg
Lo Celso Ndombele
Bale Kane Son

However I do have concerns about losing a player who is still very young and has amazing upside albeit for an absolute superstar but who is 31 and injury prone. We'll see what happens.

Would be kind of funny if after getting the big speech from Jose and Levy about working harder and trying to get back to his best, Dele gets a move to the biggest club in the world without really improving.

That latest dragon info has to be Coutinho. He has consistently absolutely fucking battered us.

We would be nuts to let Dele go. Young, British and proven.
Yes he's not at his best but so what? He can still score.
At a lesser rate than 4 of our current players. Kane, Son, Lucas, Bergwijn all scoring more than Dele... yes even Lucas who hasn’t scored in 21 straight league games has scored more goals than Dele since he arrived at Spurs.

Mourinho rates him, no way he leaves. Jose would probably rather start Davies and keep Dele than get Reguilon.

I think this could be the making of him as a player if he goes to RM - it could be a win for everybody involved as he is stagnating here at the moment.

I still remember when he came in as a box to box midfielder, absolutely brilliant.

We obviously moved him up the pitch to harness his goalscoring but gradually hes lost his way.

My (probably controversial) thoughts on Dele.

Positionally he plays best in a luxury position, floating into space. He's not disciplined enough for any other role (and Jose has him nailed on that if the doc is anything to go by). The problem is if he plays that position he really needs to be the one to make us tick and he's just not that good. The odd cheeky flick isn't enough.

If Bale does come back, there's no room for Dele anyway.

Seems as if the dele part in Matt laws story is more of a option rather than a concrete deal

Agree with every word said.

Really think we will be going to a front 3 if Bale comes in. We either put an extra man in midfield or the defence.

Could it not also be Sabitzer? Wouldn't make much sense for RB but he scored a brace vs us in one of the champions league games.

Sabitzer would be amazing. Things have very much turned fantasy football in the last 12 hours but Bale, Reguillon and Sabitzer and we'd win trophies.
