Lets not get carried away. He is a young guy with potential. That is all. We beat Villa and Newcastle to his signature. We beat barcelona to John Bostocks signature. He guarantees nothing. to be honest if he goes on to have as good a career as Jermaine Jenas for instance he'll have done very, very well. Its not too often a Gerard, Toure etc.. come along. Alli may or may not reach those levels. I thought Huddlestone was going to be Vieira for 10 years. I thought Paulinho was our Lampard and Soldado our Van Nistlerooy. Nothing is guaranteed, but its good to see us sign this type of player.

Did you honestly think that huddlestone was going to be near that level?

Huddlestone was never gonna be at that level, yeah he is a fantastic passer of the ball. But he is and never will be close to Vieira. Even though he played with that mob there is no comparison

Seems that Robinson is happy to sell at the right price.
Dons have put a valuation figure on him, stating that Fabian Delph was sold to Villa by Leeds for £8 million, and Ali has surpassed Delph's achievements at the same age. They know they won't get that much for him, so I suspect the figure will be £5 million.

Still don't see us showing any firm interest though.

Well I wasn't far off...
Got the right figure, just got it completely wrong about our interest.

Welcome, bright future ahead of us. Just imagine:

Lloris - Davies, Carter-Vickers, Dier, Yedlin - Bentaleb, Mason - Alli, Onomah, Eriksen - Kane

Not even mentioned Walker-Peters, Pritchard, Winks, Lamela, Edwards or Azzaoui. Just wow.

I just came.

MK Dons boss Robinson: "Alli's move to Tottenham Hotspur will create a legacy"

http://www.itv.com/news/anglia/2015...ve-to-tottenham-hotspur-will-create-a-legacy/

Seems like a win-win for all parties at this juncture. And unlike Bostock who @RJ1882 rightfully brought up, I think we have better infrastructure both in the facility and coaching this time around to provide him with a much better chance at success. So hopefully this will be more Bale-ish than Bostock-ish in the long run.

Well according to Robinson, we were snooping around a bit but we didnt actually come in for him until Friday night and were the latest club to show interest in him. So it sounds to me like once we came in for him, Alli's decision was made easy. Probably because of Poch's track record and our academy system is finally beginning to be noticed around England.

Not been on here since we've signed him, but I thought I'd come and say I'm absolutely buzzing that we've signed this young lad. Young players need competition and with Winks, Onomah, Veljkovic, Alli, Bentaleb and Mason our books that's exactly what they will get here, along with excellent coaching and support to make it as top players. This can be nothing but a good thing for the club. Alli goes straight to the top of the list of talented CM's in our youth IMO so it's a brilliant signing and I have very high hopes for Onomah especially too. Absolutely delighted with the way we are setting ourselves up for the future!

Did you honestly think that huddlestone was going to be near that level?

I thought Thudd was going to be out deep lying quarterback, orchestrating attacks and dictating play. A bit like a Pirlo, Gary McAllister or even a Carrick type playmaker.

His lack of mobility meant he wasn't quit going to be a tough tackling box-to-box type (a la Viera) but sad he never quite fulfilled his potential.

MK Dons didn't tell him about other interest just to keep us sweet for their very lucrative ground share deal they will get from us!!?
