Did well again, I hope the scout who spotted him is busy finding the next Alli. I'd like him to be out of the limelight just to help him develop. All this hype reminds me of where Townsend was a few years ago when he got a couple of goals for England. We've got a gem, we just need to look after him.

Alli has a different personality to Townsend. He will be fine.

Alli is such a talent.
Just read Bentaleb was injured playing for Algeria.
Disgraceful that he played - what was the silly boy there for

The difference was, quite a lot of us knew Townsend wasn't the real deal.
I genuinely think Alli is.

played well. Would've preferred it, however, if him and Kane and Dier hadn't played (nearly) 90 minutes.

Good to see our players representing, but these friendly games are so effing frustrating. Everytime our players are involved in a challenge I hold my breath. I hope that they are fit for the Spam game on Sunday.

What a bloody goal that was, a great strike!

The other week however, I learnt that I strike better than Alli does... I beat his record score at the MK Bowling alley ;)

I was fearful for our keeper in the France goal.

On the one hand I wanted the Spurs players to be banging them in, on the other hand I wanted our keeper not to be embarrassed.

Strange feeling watching that game.

Alli's development is best served at a club that is prepared to have faith & play him. That club is Tottenham Hotspur. It would be a real shame if he gets overhyped & over-pressured as the next big thing.

Lets give him the time to develop & get even better. Alli can afford to sign a long term deal with the club & if we haven't progressed much in that time, he can leave with still a large chunk of his career to go.

I firmly believe that our club is on the way to brighter horizons, so he along with our other young players are ideally placed to reach their potential & secure major honours.

I only watched the first 50 minutes last night, it was on too late.. but Lloris didn't really look up for it - not surprising, really. His kicking was dodgy in the first half (sometimes is for us, too), Rooney's shot went through him.

The little nick off Koscielny may have played a part in Alli's shot going in but for them it was really a ceremonial game to show that France still stands strong - they were much better against Germany on Friday, and so was Lloris.

It is our turn to have a golden generation - Dier, Alli, Kane, Mason, Bentaleb, Rose. Add to that the likes of eriksen, chadli, Toby, Lloris and we really do have a league winning team there.
Not to mention the younglings snapping at the heels of the above and these are interesting times indeed.

Delle Alli IS the next Gerrard. And he is ours.

Totally agree. I can understand if Hodgson viewed this as a friendly in which to expirement in view of the upcoming Euros; however, he was never going to learn anything from this match following the Paris massacre. It was clear that France, understandably, were not going to view this as a friendly but more of a 'formal kickabout'. You could see that in the number of substitutions and how early they happened. Why didn't Hodgson follow suit, instead of leaving Kane on until the 80th minute, Alli to nearly the 90th and Dier playing the full match.

He annoys me anyway (Hodgson that is!) and I was screaming expletives at the television as the game wore on.

I want Dier to play as much as possible in this new position. The more a player plays, I suppose statistically the more they are likely to be injured. This has to be weighed up against the value of experience.

I don't have a problem with him playing; I just think there was no reason for him to play the full 90mins. And the fact that we have two difficult games coming up (Spammers and the Chelscum) - for me at least - have priority over him playing for England (but then I have no interest in the national team :))
