This constant slagging of our most successful PL manager with the 'fkin run around a bit' line is wearing a bit thin don't you think.
It was said tongue in cheek ffs.
If anyone really thinks he achieved two top four finishs and got to a CL quarter final with nothing in his locker but 'fkin run around a bit' then frankly you're a fkin retard.

He must regret the joke. But it was certainly a joke. Pavlyuchenko had just arrived at Tottenham, sans English, and Redknapp was making a wry comment about his inability to communicate with his new player.

Unfortunately for him, the comment resonated with his stereotypical image (with which he sometimes colluded) and an entirely ridiculous number of fans, journalists and commentators have assumed that he was being serious.

Yep, wait 'til he sees what no winter break means with that approach. I think the Bundesliga teams had a month off last season. Sensible, for European Cup purposes and their international side, but none of that here.

And the fact that we have an extra competition and play more matches in the league than the Bundesliga.

Harry was a good manager for us. Also he had 3 world class players, Bale, Modric, VDV. Unfortunately his previous activity over the years caught up with him, along with his ambition for England job, media profile, and error in trying to take on Daniel Levy in negotiations !!. Still all Spurs fans enjoyed our fast attacking play and CL wins.

Which bit of
'Run about a lot more and press in the opposition half when they have the ball'
did it take a year to understand.

The article has little in the way of content, just the one quotable line that has been puffed up into the headline.

I'm a bit sceptical about our apparent defensive solidity and offensive impotence compared to last season. We are visibly defending in a more organised manner and we finally have a proper defensive midfielder, but it will only take one 5-0 whacking to erase the sense of reliability. The same applies to our wayward shooting and squandering of chances. I think a lot of it is just the swings and roundabouts of a game that is heavily affected by chance.

There is a parallel with our injury-free 2-3 months last season, compared to the rash of crocked midfielders this season. We're not doing anything differently. It's just random distribution.

Sort of agree, but at the end of all the 380 Premier league games in a season, despite the game of chance/swings and roundabouts as you put it, the best teams really do end up at the top end of the table. Guess we'll have to wait and see if our defensive solidity continues until May.
