Can't imagine him leaving before 2019 unless they have a massive clear out due to being shit (which is now unlikely cos of Zidane) or Perez loses his presidency. Would love him back but you never know if he'll hit that form he had under AVB again. Although he's upped his game this season, he certainly isn't the same player that left us.

He said soon after he left that he's open to playing for us again but I think that was more to do with appeasing the fans. In reality, he'll probably see us as 'been there done that' (if we stick around 4th & 5th) and he'd probably go to Utd or City or Bayern etc.

In our favour though is the BIGGEST STADIUM IN LONDON, a possibility of regular CL footie and another possibility of Levy selling to Arabs for £1.2 billion meaning buying him back will be piss easy cos our owners have gold plated cars & stuff.

I doubt Spurs would exercise the clause, unless they could immediately flip Bale for a profit. It would never fit within our current transfer budget, nor our wage scale.

Yes I would take him back, but I never warmed to him honestly. Maybe it was the diving, or that awful summer where he completely vanished from the squad leaving AVB to pick up the pieces.

That whole saga just left a bitter taste in the mouth and really made me want to stop watching football altogether (especially given how crap we were that season).

Reading this, it makes me think the details were hashed out very quickly, or Real got the cheapest English-language lawyer in Madrid. It's poorly formatted and there are lots of typographical errors. Mind-blowing to think the contracts I drafted as an intern for very minor business transactions were more thorough and professional than a transfer as visible and expensive as this.

He doesnt have a huge unmanageable ego. Sheesh its like he wasnt here for 7 odd years or something. He just doesnt work particularly hard off the ball.

I think the people who say he's a big ego have had their brains done in by him being teammates with most egotistical **** in football. Bale is not a "big ego" by any means. And he's also one of the best players in the world. If we still had Bale on this team, we'd be running away with the title.

This x100. Bale is a hard, hard worker. His body is incredible and that is due to hours on the pitch/gym. He is still the amazing player that pulled us out of matches and to think we wouldn't have him back for his confidence is insane.

I don't doubt for a second that he likes what Poch is doing with our club and thinks the what if's of life

Yes, i'm sure he spends many nights drenched in sweat from nightmare after nightmare thinking "ugh! what if i wasnt making a couple hundred thousand dollars a week??" or "shit what if i had stayed at spurs with timmy sherwood kaboul capoue and co and not come to madrid, scoring winnin goals in both the CL and copa del rey finals? what a right mess i made of that, huh?""

if Bale came back this Jan (which he won't) we'd win the league
if he was here next season (and our manager and squad remain together) we'd win the league

I'm genuinely shocked that some people wouldn't have him back.

I'm pretty sure I had a tiny cute lil partial seizure after reading subsequent posts saying it.

I'm extremely pleased with the youth incorporation project currently going on at the club, but in no way do I think a return of Bale would have an overall negative impact on it. I think the kids would love to share a training pitch with a player of his magnitude, especially since the "star power" would likely be more spread out at that point than it was while Bale was at the club.
