Moyes won't get sacked and we won't finish above them. It simply won't happen. Mainly because United have that ability to grind results to the death.

They'll probably end up about 3rd.

I think it's more to do with the fact that a lot of teams go to United and roll over. I hope that will change. This United side will struggle for confidence for a few weeks, but they'll turn it around. Ma City will be their achillies heel because they just can't live with their pace and tenacity, I don't think many other teams have the bollocks to play like that against them.

The season has barely started but I think we've developed that mentality now and I haven't seen it much from Moyes' United to be fair. They'll probably finish above us though, but it will be because of RvP and Rooney rather than them grinding out more results than us.

Of course, one of the main reasons we were one of the few teams to win at Old Trafford last year was that we went for it from the off. United aren't actually that fierce collectively compared to the top boys, I'd say Chelsea, City, Arsenal and us all have better first XIs on our day. Thing is, United have two bonafide game-changers in Rooney & Van Persie who can flip a game on its head, plus the likes of Hernandez, Kagawa and Nani (when he can be arsed) who all can do something impressive. Then you've got Vidic, De Gea, Jones & Fellaini, all of whom are cracking defensive players. United will always win a game in a second against the lower sides, but when it comes to us, Chelsea, Arsenal, City & Liverpool, teams that know we're on a similar level to them, we have no reason to allow them to play their game. This is why it was so baffling to me why Mourinho didn't use his ridiculously skillful team to run rings around them back in August.

We've got that mentality, but we're always good at this point of a season, it's a matter of whether or not we can string it out for 50+ games.

For what it's worth I think Ferguson left at the best possible time, that squad isn't up to scratch with the ones they're trying to compete with but those who think this is the start of the end are thinking way, way too soon.

Yep. United have gone to City, Liverpool and played Chelsea at home this season and got 1 point. Lest we forget we lost all 3 of those fixtures last year.

I think the reason why we faded a little at the end of last year was our lack of squad depth and quality throughout the first team, especially attacking wise apart from Bale (Dempsey, off form Ade, Defoe). Our mentality really developed as the season went on though. Although we didn't win in both we attacked United relentlessly until Clint got his goal and similarly Siggy's at the Chavs. Now we've got the ability to break down teams with more creative players hopefully our attacks will be much more effective whilst at the same time we keep the ball and dominate games. I'm pretty sure if we'd had two of Lamela, Holtby and Eriksen on the field for more than 15 minutes at Arsenal we would have found a way through.

It certainly will if he keeps on picking Young/Welbeck/Valencia...

Valencia! What happened to him? he's not been the same since the CL final a couple of years back.

Always a limited player I thought, but always worked tirelessly and just did the simple things well; head down, run fast, cross it... head down, run fast, cross it... but now can't seem to even get that together now.

Young has no excuse, quite possibly one of the most overrated players in the league.

Hope not as with Moyes we have a chance to finish above them.
I think we can regardless of manager, they lost their most valuable asset. They have great strikers and that's it, the rest is good, but not top of the table good.

I can honestly see Fergie take over for the second half of the season.

When you spend more time insulting your players in interviews than imparting knowledge then your time is up.
Didn't know when to shut up and would further embarrass Sunderland with his idiotic ways, won't get a premier league job again, liability.

What is strange is that this was exactly what he was doing at Swindon but getting results. It should not have been a surprise that he would have alienated half the team

Agree, the board should have known what he was going to be like.

Mind you they didn't learn when they sacked Roy Keane. They seem to sway from Phsycho to NiceGuy and back again.

Young is a despicable cheat.

And that's it.
