Di Canio either has no self control or he's really supid, maybe a bit of both. They're not exactly the things you look for in a football manager though.

At least he got it to celebrate something that actually happened, unlike this guy...

Moyes won't get sacked and we won't finish above them. It simply won't happen. Mainly because United have that ability to grind results to the death.

They'll probably end up about 3rd.

Ferguson's Man U did I agree but then he was a winner.

Moyes has stepped up to one of the biggest teams in the world and I think it's going to take a season to get the hang of it. Plus their squad isn't half as intimidating as it once was.

From a Sunderland forum.. this bloke obviously knows his stuff

Poyet, Pulis or Ball.

Can't imagine anyone else.

Alan Ball died
Pulis because he has managed a team in stripey red shirts?
Poyet...interesting What are they looking to do? Improve or just stay up?

Pretty sure they mean Kevin Ball.

I think it's more to do with the fact that a lot of teams go to United and roll over. I hope that will change. This United side will struggle for confidence for a few weeks, but they'll turn it around. Ma City will be their achillies heel because they just can't live with their pace and tenacity, I don't think many other teams have the bollocks to play like that against them.

I think this is the salient point. It's not just the belief that Ferguson instilled - which he did in shitloads - it's that most teams turn out against ManU already a goal or two down in their heads.

I genuinely believe ManU are the weakest team in the top 4 in terms of squad/first 11. This is the most fragile Utd have been for two decades.

And I do not believe it is all down to Ferguson going, though that is huge, I think Ferguson's ability to galvanise had masked his inability to rebuild their squad properly in recent years.

And for the record, Di Canio was a fucking fruit loop of the highest order, and this was always going to end embarrassingly, and always sooner rather than later.

Di Canio's maverick style just doesn't work in modern football any more. He's tried to do a Brian Clough but Clough was a genuine managerial genius where as Di Canio is just a side show.

Even Clough would struggle to impose his style if he were managing today, so Di Canio has got no chance.

I agree, but for the sake of them staying in the PL last season, for me they made the right decision. They had endured the bollockless shite under O'Neill and needed to drastically change things, from a clogger to a motivator/extrovert. Same thing Southampton did pretty well I think. The biggest mistake was made by Reading, dropping McDermott for Nigel Adkins is the same as dumping Vanessa Feltz to go out with Jo Brand because she does anal.

I reckon now they'll go back to a placid, non tactical clogger, Di Matteo fits the bill quite well.

It's a big myth that they were certs for the drop under O'Neill - as it turned out they needed four points from the eight games PDC was in charge to stay up and I think they would've got that even without a change in manager. Agree that Di Matteo would be a good fit for them, but as long as they stay the hell away from Pulis and McLeish I think most fans will be content!

Sunderland are in serious trouble.

Being mismanaged by MON who overspent, as always, led to a lopsided team.

PDC tried to do too much too quickly. They have a poor squad, a lot of new players finding their feet and whoever is the new manager he has a big job to do just to keep them up.

  1. Amusing from Sunderland forum:
    PDC was our last chance.
He had the desire to take us up the league and into Europe. Short wanted a new beginning post the last load of boring shite. The players revolted and now I'm revolted by Pulis, Mclaren et all who only aspire to mid table obscurity . Now if we appoint Poyet the last laugh is on the squad ie the players are going to get an even more ego-maniacal boss. I saw the interview at Brighton where he said that if he couldn't make the team any better he would be off - and whats wrong with that kind of ambition. For God's sake, for once we have a chance of being better or going down in flames. I'll take that over fuckin Pulis any day!

    A quick question for you.

Since 1992, when Tony Pulis began his managerial career, which of these have taken part in more European games?

    a) Tony Pulis
    b) Sunderland AFC

This has nothing to do with what I want. Another one for you:
