I know a lot of initial reaction will be, "is this a serious question?" but genuinely I feel like we've missed a trick here.
Now I'll admit, when his contract expired last season with Malaga, I wasn't on here or Twitter banging on doors to advertise this player for Spurs but after seeing how well he's adapted to the Premier League, I believe he could've been our unsung hero this season.
Like Dawson, Demichelis is far from blessed with pace however his eye for an interception has more than made up for this over the years and has seen him become a key figure for the likes of Bayern Munich, Malaga and more recently Manchester City as they push for their second Premier League title. His experience, Argentinian heritage and cultured development (overseen by the likes of Ottmar Hitzfield, Louis Van Gaal and Manuel Pellegrini) may have also seen our slow, possession based build up play under AVB find more fluidity and success compared to when we've had to play Dawson or Capoue.
His experience and composure could also have translated towards many of our younger squad members, hopefully resulting in a reduction in the excessive number of soul-crushing score lines we've seen this season. He may have also benefited the introduction of Lamela to both England and the squad. Having someone else to talk to who's a fellow countrymen who also experienced a move to Europe at a young age may have benefited Lamela's confidence and integration.
At the very least if he accepted our offer and Man City came calling, Levy would've drove them up the wall to get a cool £5 million out of him.
