Atlético Madrid want to sign Giovani Lo Celso for next season, according to Argentine outlet TyC Sports.
The club wants to challenge for LaLiga next season, and are trying to build a squad so Diego Simeone to do that. Playmaking midfielder Lo Celso is seen as a player who can greatly increase their chances to compete, and the new report says Atlético will do everything in their power to acquire his services.

Think you might be surprised. He gets about pretty well for Argentina and he's judged on his time here when he was never fit.

I don't think they want to buy him just a loan which means that he and Ndombele could still be with us in a years time. Spurs have to say no loans only sales for these two even if it means a cut price deal.

Argentinian international in his prime who has done well in Spain on 2 separate occasions. Now the interest is there from a club with some money we should be able to get a fee for around his worth rather than having to sell for below value or try to work out a swap deal.

Unfortunately, his really good spell during the COVID-interrupted season (when loads of fans briefly thought he was our best player) is remembered as a purple patch (or forgotten entirely), even though it was the only time he was match-fit and able to get into a rhythm.
