And how he's been ignored by Hodgson all season while Chambers has been a shoe in from the start of the season.
Has he been ignored or is he refusing to make a decision, I ask this because Portugal genuinely seem to want him to be a full international for them

As I cant believe he wouldn't be picked if he was eligible

He already plays/ed for England U18's, U19's, U20's & U21's.. can't see why he'd then change nationality!

I see Dier becoming more of a dominant force/ personality in the team with more games, the spine of the team looks promising but there is a long way to go. I am interested to see how we finish the season.

The thing was he couldnt play for Portugal until he was 18 and by 17 he got the chance to play for the england squad which made him ineligible for Portugal.

In the modern era of choose who ever you like he may still feel he doesnt want to make a decision for certain yet, he has been there since he was 10 tbf

He has the physique but isn't great connecting with the ball. He doesn't yet have the class of vert but this will come in time. Good prospect.

I sense a very composed and mature head on very young shoulders. We need to look after Dier and by the looks of it so far, he seems to have a very bright future.
I hope that we allow him the time required to continue to mature and be prepared to accept a blip here and there. He will have some off days but it is evident that he has it in him to succeed at Spurs.

Dier is a good one, that's for sure. I've been pleasantly surprised how much better he already looks than a seasoned pro like Fazio and I don't mean that to slight Fazio who has had some strong games after his rough start.

He refused to play at RB for England's u21's when he was playing in that position earlier in the season, this corresponded with the time he was dropped completely from the squad at Spurs. There was much talk at that time that pochettino did not respect what Dier had done.

See a top player at CB

Needs to play out rest of season in favoured position.

Will play for England IMO

Not unless he plays for a Sky club he won't.

Seriously though, really good prospect and I like how well he's settled himself. He's kept his head down and kept soldiering on. It was a good call to turn down his call up in order to focus on club football and trying to work his way into the team.

When did this happen? I know he asked permission to stay back to work on his game which Southgate agreed would be more beneficial in that instance than a friendly and granted it him but didn't hear he refused to play RB for them.

Thought the same as you, he stayed at Spurs to train and improve his game.

Just looking into it further and no U21 game corresponded with Dier being dropped from Spurs, as the last U21 games played were the 2 games Dier asked not to be included for (to work on his game) and he played the very next game (in fact 2 of the next 4). I would suggest it was his poor form at RB that was the reason he was dropped followed by Walker returning from injury (which happened after the 4 games).

He wasn't ignored by Hodgson, it's only been in the last couple of months that he's played regularly at CB for Spurs. Until then he was only really used at RB if at all.

Lot's of bullshit gets discussed on here, which is exactly what it sounds like it was.

"However, when asked whether he had spent the fortnight ahead of tomorrow's trip to Hull working specifically on his central defensive skills, as suggested, Pochettino's answer was an unequivocal "No!" His assistant Jesus Perez explained: "When we do defensive and attacking exercises we always rotate the players so they each get to experience all of the positions."
