SAF on Berbatov: "It wouldn't surprise me if he's at Tottenham. I don't think he's certain to go to Fulham, put it that way."

With a bit more context it doesn't sound all that promising
"There's not been any contact from him. He could be anywhere. I really mean that. I wouldn't be surprised if he was at Tottenham. "
I think he's just saying that he's out of contact rather than he might be coming home, as great as that'd be

If we replace the legend that is VDV with Berbatov the scummy little @&#% well I just wouldn't know what to say.

I'd take him back - cracking player.

What as VDV's replacement, as that is what he will be. We will be going froma player in VDV who gives it all for Spurs, loves the club, to be a replaced by a sulky shit, moping about the pitch just to pick up a fat pay-check, he may be a qaulity player but he can stay well away as far as I'm concerned.

Was told earlier this week that #THFC had made a 'gentle enquiry' about Berbatov but had gone no further. Still hasn't joined #FFC @BenSmithBBC

I want to say I agree, but the way he left us makes me think he’s a ****. He would certainly improve us though, he is a great footballer.

He gave us a year more than he could have and the club made a fortune. If we buy him back for £15m then it'll be a great bit of business all round.

Why not

IMO Berbatov is a better player than Adebayor

Better finishing,better touch,better linkup,more creative

Although there is a big part of me that would hate it, this could potentially solve a lot of problems. If we are spunking our remaining transfer funds on Moutinho then a cut -price deal for Berbs makes financial sense.

If we had Chelsea or Man City money then we could be more moralistic on this but if Berbs came in and played to his potential for a small fee then it would be stupid to turn down.

With all the outgoings, it better be this and about another three coming in.

meh. hopefully it was just a gentle enquiry and nothing more

old, expensive, slow- which considering AVB is all about pace and closing down then there aren't many worse strikers for chasing down. He disrepected the club, if he comes back he won't really want to be here, he'll only bitch if he sits on the bench and finally resigning a striker based on former glory rarely works out

haha, I love you lot I really do!!!

I hate Berbatov, can't stand the slimy bastard for the way he goes about his sulks to get a move. Petulantly stamping his feet and stropping around and meeting United reps when he never had permission to do so!! Seriously fuck off!

BUT, BUT, BUT, if anyone seriously thinks that we shouldn't at least consider the chance to take back a ridiculously talented and gifted forward for just a few million pounds then you need a slap. This is the guy who still has one of the best goals to minutes ratio in the league for the past 3 years. Top premier league scorer 2 years ago. Unbelievable vision, ball control, can score remarkable goals or bring others into play when seemingly impossible.

Sorry, but as much as I can't stand him I'm prepared to put personal feelings to one side.....we need a player of his calibre.

It's hard to put away the emotional baggage where Berbatov is concerned but what is important is whether he would be an asset for our team. To do this I imagine how I would feel if Arsenal were rumoured to be signing him rather than us and the answer to that question is that I would be alarmed ... very alarmed. He may be a Judas but he has a great footballing brain and he scores goals. The fact is i'd rather watch him combining with Dembele or getting on the end of Bale's crosses than watch Defoe constantly running offside or whacking the ball into the first defender's legs. Remember we got 30 pieces of silver for him when he left and he'll probably only cost us 5 pieces to get back. That's like he'd be coming with a free Moutinho. Heart says 'Damn no!', head says 'Hell yeah!'.

As Montasura says, he might be a knob (Berbatov, not Montasura), but he's a gifted player who is proven in the Premier League. We'd be bananas not to consider him. Honestly, if deals for various Brazilians can't be made then this could be great business and I'm not too proud or bitter to celebrate goals scored and made by a knob, and if a knob earns us points then I'll gladly take them.
