Ha ha! Brilliant..."how are you enjoying the Europa league Benni?"

I love him, I said last season that I was surprised there was no talk of money coming in for him - he's a great player with an immensely refreshing attitude.

An interesting debate about a very popular player. IMO, and this is based on watching both play often, Benny reminds me of Cyril Knowles. He was a well loved full back of ours who was also prone to the odd lapse in concentration, but over the years, showed just what a reliable and down to earth guy he was. They both have a very similar laconic style and attitude to the game, but you would want either one in your team 99 games out of a hundred. The song even fits...'Nice one Benny, nice one son, nice one Benny, lets have another one'.

If Benny tackled like Knowlesy did, he wouldn't last very long these days!

Ron Henry, Cyril, Chrissy Hughton… I think Benny's well worthy of standing next in that line of succession. I'd be happy to include Leapy Lee in the class just below.

Can I throw my 5 cents in as well even though I have done this so many times before? Disco Benny is my favourite player and has been since he made the left back position his own. I was born in 1968 and he is the best left back I have seen playing for my beloved Spurs in my lifetime. Absolute class, silky smooth and it will be the saddest day of my life when he longer wears our white shirt.........

Well said sir.
He's probably the only current footballer that I'd like to meet.
One of the few whom I imagine it would be good to sit and have a pint and a chat.

Refreshing, doesn't do his attitude justice, he's almost a rose amongst thorns!
