I'm waiting for the day someone sees a tackle like that, sees the grinning chuckle head get away with it then, that night as they roll out of a club, someone bellows "MAN ON!", charges along the pavement and jumps into their leg, snapping it below the knee, then standing up and going "YELLOW CARD, YOU ****!"

I couldn't condone it, but you could certainly understand the frustration that breeds ideas like that :|

Will Faces be open Sunday night?

Chelsea play the Woolwich on Sunday, don't they? Either way, if they're going anywhere it'll be up that way or some shirt venue up town...

"Riley did not include the reaction of the Chelsea players, or that of Cole, in his match report so no further action will be taken on that matter by the FA."

Riley is clearly unfit to referee.

And now he has put out a shitty apology via The Big Four News Channel. How fucking pathetic.

Bottom line is. John Terry should have had a word with Ashley Cole:

JT: "Ashley seriously that was a nasty tackle. Lay off it. If you go around crippling players, there'd be no disabled spaces to park my Bentley!".

;-)

See, from that reaction alone, the FA should feel obliged to investigate it - he's done that to give the FA some ammo to use, when they're accused of not acting.

Why are so many people so unable to see through this pathetic ball scratching?

I'm sick of this country and it's "everything's fine!" attitude to some and lust to "make an example" of others.

Lets see if Sepp Blatter decides to air his views on this tackle - in my opinion far more dangerous than Taylors slide and quite obviously intentional to 99% of those who have seen it.

That's pretty f$cking ugly. I wonder if players are being told to have a pop at Hutton because of his previous injuries.

I think everybody's pretty sick of Chelsea's players & their attitudes & egos.

The FA are talking their usual BS. There are plenty of precedents where misbehaviour - ie disrepute - by players has been retrospectively punished despite the refereee seeing it during the match. I can think of several Manure-Scum matches over the years.

Cashley ****'s behaviour was clearly intended to influence the referee's decision, and he showed open blatant contempt for Riley. This is DISREPUTE. Charge him, ban him, fine him.

Cole is a fucking disgrace and everyone knows it. But since Chavski have been inducted and entrenched in the so-called "Big 4", everyone also knows nothing is going to happen. There is clearly a double standard, could you imagine Derby players ganging up on the ref like that?

Even though they are dopey bastards at times, I think Referees should be given more protection.

Players should be sin-binned for 10 minutes for confronting referees and all this shit would soon stop.

i think it's sir Trev who's putting forward the suggestion of adopting the rugby rule that only the captains are allowed to approach the referee, once he's blown the whistle for whatever. He explains why he's made the decision he's made, the captains put their argument, they walk away.

It would be a great rule to be able to implement, but i don't see it being easy.

But it really is that easy. Do you think Ferguson (the master of ref bullying) would encourage his players to harrass Referees if he thought he could possibly lose two or three players for 10 minutes?

In the Prem, it would be game over.

Put the rule in, and they won't do it, it's not worth the risk.

There are two problems i see with the sinbin being introduced in football though - first, it'd break up the game and is a prime way to waste time without clocking up a yellow card. The second is that it would completely undermine the card system we have in place already and the FA would never allow that to happen.

If the rule was to be introduced to stop players approaching the ref, the punishment would have to be a card, but personally i think we could avoid all of this by the referees getting some balls.

A load of players bundle him he stands still and explains that all but the one he wants to talk to will walk away now. If they don't, he books them. If they continue to harass him, they get another yellow and sent off - the referee is there to set the rules. Regardless of if they're doing well or doing badly, you have to accept that this is the man who will judge your game, like it or suffer.

I would honestly applaud any referee, even if he sent off three players just for getting up in his face. Whilst players are barracking refs, trying to influence their decisions or anything and getting away with it constantly then it'll become accepted as normal.

It's got to be stamped on and the players made to realise they don't call the game, but i don't think any referee has got the balls to enforce the rules to the letter, especially when it comes to the top four.
