I don't think we learn lessons, so no. It's all set up for Citeh to pull the rug from under our feet and leave us the same rabble as last season

If we don't sign Adebayor just think how great our balance sheet will look!

We don't want to do a Leeds do we :)

Maybe we need an Adebayor plan in case contingency falls through...leastways, that's the way it is trending

If true then I should be pleased but it's hard getting excited about a player that's taken forever to just get on loan and won't be playing until the middle of September anyway.

Soundds like it's time for another happy pill injection, Brett

Who's asking Levy to go into serious debt? Is it unrealistic for us to at least spend a modicum of transfer money on at least one striker of note?Mirko Vucinic was available for 15 million pounds, and nearly every media report regarding our involvement dealt with us not wanting to meet that quote. Papiss Demba Cisse is available for potentially less than that, and his wage demands will be within our bracket, yet I can't envision us even remotely going hard for him.

If we can't spend even 15 million pounds on a striker, then we shouldn't fancy ourselves a big club and begin to hurl ridiculous personal insults at our superstar players when they seek greener pastures.

I'm perfectly fine with Levy being fiscally conservative and not wanting to take a calculated risk to make the top 4 this season. But, I also am not one who has blamed Modric for wanting out, nor will I blame Bale if things progress poorly this season, either.

But despite his spectacular goalscoring record last season, no-one else seems to be falling over themselves to sign him either. As for Vucinic, I'm pretty sure it was well-known that he had his heart set on Juve (I could be wrong!).

Just look at the strikers who have come into the EPL over the past few seasons. We've had one-season wonders like McCarthy and Rocket Roque, some total bozos, and very, very few who have really delivered the goods. How much have City spent on strikers in terms of transfer fees and wages since Sheikh Yerbooti took over? How many of the one they've signed have a) been any good? b) not fallen out with Mancini?

I would not, for a moment, call our existing trio top-drawer or anything like ideal. However, an astonishing number of people seem to be taking last season's duff showing as standard.

I think the thing is SS67, the players individually are all decent enough. The problem is that none of them form a proper balanced partnership.

VDV has to play because he's the best player but then there is no one to partner him. This is why Adebayor is crucial, because when VDV drops deep Adebayor has the power and pace to play as a lone striker.

If Adebayor signs you are going to see a MASSIVE improvement in our team balance and goal record.

If what is being reported is true, and Adebayor is indeed arriving at White Hart Lane, our fortunes will have taken a turn for the better. He is a very good player when healthy and motivated. Redknapp unquestionably will get the best out of him, so long as he physically is fit.

I still think another striker would suit us, but I won't get greedy, given the somewhat limited resources we have to bring players in. Kudos to Daniel Levy for finding a way to keep the club's profit margin very high, whilst also bringing in a short-term loan option that can give us a fighting chance at 4th place.

Now we can turn our attention to keeping Modric and pushing forward boldly in an attempt to reclaim a top 4 position.

I think we do but my big worry is who is our back up if adebayor gets injured. We need cisse now and damiao in January for me.
