Just had a ride in his cab, very nice chap, played for the O's in the 70s, I think he said, from 74 to 80?
But it doesn't tally with the only reference I could find to his name Mark Cooper.

(Does anyone have a link for a comprehensive list of O's players from the past?)
He saw Spurs at the pre-season Friendly, and said he'd never seen such physically fit players, they looked SO fit.......
Anyway, very interesting chatting to him about his career, I just wish we'd had more time till he dropped me off, but he was a Forward, and said at the time, he had big bushy hair (if it helps anyone remember him). The O's played in the old 2nd Division, and at the end of his career with them, he was offered a move to Hull, but didn't want to move home, so as his family were cabbies, he got a job with them, and now has a fleet of black cabs. (He had a month off in Greece in August so must be doing well).
After he stopped being a Pro, he played non-League for various clubs, including Fisher, and used to get £100 per match for playing on a Saturday, which was about twice the average weekly wage back then, so pretty good going!
He said he's going to the Lane to watch a match in a couple of weeks, he is still Leyton Orient, but his son (via the maternal Grandfather is Ar*se), so if you see a chap who you think looks like he may've been a pro footballer, or you recognize and remember him as a player, say hello and make him welcome at the Lane, hopefully his grandkids will be Spurs.
DC_Boy, TheChosenOne, SS57, CosmicHotspur et al, did you ever see him play? Or do you remember seeing his name about at the time?
I asked his professional opinion of Berbatov as a player:
"The most talented in the League in terms of having the touch and control of a magician, but he's a lazy **** and while he could get away with at Spurs, cos we suited his style of play, he won't at MU, and Fergie won't put up with it, as their game is all about pressing."
I asked who was his fave player? "Rooney, apart from his temperament."
