Because 60+ games a season will destroy him
Is a qualifier against Lithuania and a friendly against Italy really going to make that much of a difference?

It's not that though, it's a precedent for him to then be a regular in the senior squad. Happens to all the young debutants - a good game and he'll be expected then and may have to play the U21s all summer too and dig himself into burn out throught enthusiasm.
Although that hasn't happened with Townsend, and with Sturridge fit again and Rooney seemingly undroppable there's enough competition for Kane to not become absolutely vital to England straight away.
I'd start him on the bench v Lithuania and give him half an hour, then start v Italy and take him off after an hour, which would only equate to one whole game.
Other than the first part, this entire post is nonsense.to him, playing for England will be a big deal. If he doesn't get it whilst playing for Spurs, it will make him think about moving. An England call up will also increase his value - should we have to sell him.
