Depends what his job entails following this. Could easily change his title and get someone else to do the negotiating. He could still look after everything football wise at the club and even identify targets. He just can't speak to them, their representatives or the selling clubs.
It probably makes that job a lot harder though, when he can't receive messages from other club's officials and agents. Seems to me like a lot of what his 'scouting' comes more through talking to agents and such to find out who's available, where the bargains are.

Leverkusen had an extremely good record of bringing in young gems under his tenure. It is not just Chelsea who have been after him Liverpool also want him and Monaco (another club with history of bringing in good young players) as well.
The last I checked it was not brilliant at all. Dortmund, Leipzig even Bayern are ahead. That is why it baffles me.

Yeah I hope the board read this forum too. A quick message for them:

You have shown gross negligence in terms of footballing strategy and footballing operations for years now and if you had any ounce of self awareness you'd admit your mistakes and rectify them by putting in a proper footballing CEO like Paul Barber and then creating a coherent footballing strategy which aligns with the ethos and history of our club.

It wouldn't be difficult at all for a club with our resources and would only require a modicum of intelligence, common sense and understanding of football.

If you can't do this, then do the right thing and step down.
Can I just say this is the best post I have ever read since I’ve been on this forum.
I could not agree with you more.

All have far bigger budgets than Leverkusen (and Leipzig the advantage of a what is to all extents and purposes a feeder team in Austria).

Probably it is true. I looked through the transfermarkt and there were a lot of deals which did not pan out. I am not against him, but there are not clear evidences that he is so highly rated.

Well until today I suppose the main rationale was that he wasn't banned from working anywhere other than Italy.

And at that stage I can understand that the club may look at the positives, including those you've mentioned, and be hesitant to let him go.

But with this development I agree that he should go, and would find it hard to accept if anyone at the club was still pushing for him to stay.
I think it depends on how influential he is. If Levy regards him as doing am exceptional job with youth setup and he can still identify targets , we qyiote often have intermediaries negotiate deals for us anyway, so we wouldn't have to hire someone else to do his job. Keep him, I say if he's broke no rules while in our employment.

I remember some were saying to swerve him altogether due to the rumours/smell around Juve and him when his joining was first mentioned. He's done some good things. Things that nobody else could have done though? Not sure and this is just another needless mess the club is now involved in.

Sure this has already been mentioned in here but does Paratici seemingly being off give us the opportunity to put Nagelsmann and Rangnick together?

I know RR's Austria contract runs until next year but would we be able to tempt him?

Steinssen is not doing anything great. The other fella (ex-Watford) a totally different matter.
Interesting - perhaps it'll be Gabbanini then that's given a more prominent role then as we assimilate the Pozzo scouting network.

Renowned for unearthing South American talent, this might well align better with Gallardo potentially but I know i'm reaching here.
