Loving how many posters subscribe to 11sports and have been able to catch the circa 10 times this kid would’ve been televised by that channel in the past 2 seasons...
Yeh, not the only way to catch Ajax games.

Mind I admit I have mostly watched him in European games.

don't see this happening for us, but I also don't see why he'd move to United only to be a rotation option

One of the worlds biggest clubs who pay huge wages and are back in the CL again. Also, good players believe in their ability to break into the team.

Desperately want him to sign for us just so we can have the return of the VDV, KC and Sunshine Band song

And yet he’s been an almost mainstay in our side which has never finished below 6th with him in it ?

Been a luxury player for over 2 seasons and showes way to little to defend the place. We need to aim higher if we wanna move up a level.

100% would rather Sabitzer.

Van De Beek is similar to Dele and Dele is a better player.

We do need to shift Ndombele, and no one is saying we wont, just that it's hard.

The reality is Ndombele is unlikely to play many games at all this season. I don't see it happening. But Dragon seemed to say that because he is a long term target and this might be an opportunity to good to pass up, he would be willing to put 25m odd in the deal. The player exchange (my guess foyth) will be there to make up the difference.

On where does this leave Lo Celso? Well I hate this logic (though no reason you wont see him in a midfield wth VdB) because it's not about 11 players, the 11 players will change regularly, for all kind of reasons. For most seasons you have 14-16 who will play the majority of games. This season that will probably be higher, because we should be aiming to have 60+ games this season, and they will come so close together that rotation becomes ever more important. This season will be decided on which clubs are better at maintaining fitness levels. We need more than one good player per position.

We’re just not buying expensive squad options. You can try rationalise this but it’s not happening. We’re not Man City or Chelsea who can afford to pay high wages to bench players but that’s just not how we operate.

Bruno and van de Beek - If two players we have been in contact with over the years going to United because we didn’t have the $£€ to get them in, it would be incredibly gutting. New stadium was supposed to help us with that + we have been incredibly shrewd with getting better loan terms + an emergency loan this year which again was supposed to help free up cash.
I swear in the press release about the emergency loan, it specifically mentioned it had nothing to do with player acquisitions.

Well, it adds for a fun few hours speculation and that's what transfers do, but I don't see how this works for us. Although at £40 mill (if true) makes you wonder how much Villa are asking for Grealish ... Crumbs Chief.

they are not bench players. They are key first team players. Is Berwijin and Moura rotate but they are both first team players. Toby, Dier and Sanchez rotate, they all finished the season as first team players. Winks, Sissoko and Lo Celso also rotated, they were all first team players last season.

In our team we only have three nailed on starters, those are Kane, Son and Lloris that is it. You will have, as I said, 14-16 players who all play 70% of the games, and probably over 50% of the minutes. This is how good teams are made. There are not just 11 first team players. It's not about being Man city, it's about being a serious football club.

If it did then it’s my bad

‘The facility, which will not be used for player acquisitions, has been arranged to ensure we have financial flexibility and additional working capital during these challenging times.’

I’ll be perfectly honest... I thought I’d posted that in the Reguillon thread.

Van der Beek we should all know enough about to make a judgement.

It’s not happening mate. Forget it.

If we had already sold NDombele then I might be convinced but while he’s with us being paid 200k pw for not playing we’re not gonna add another big money signing. Absolutely no chance.

Watching this deal happen for United sucks - we’ve been strongly linked with him for at least 2 years. Fits perfectly with what we’ve got going on and can be what we wanted Ndombele to be. On the bright side, we’ve done very shrewd, good business this window and still have time to keep it going.

Not saying he’s coming to us, but that article hardly makes it seems sealed for United. Says that “Solskjaer has been given permission to hold further talks with the player in the next 48 hours.” Hardly rock solid.

Even if we are in for him though ( and it’s still a big if), given a straight choice and with the Spurs tinted glasses taken off, he’s going to choose Utd.
