Just wondering what the latest was on him. He seemed to be a decent prospect until he got his injury so does anyone know how he's progressing, or if he's back in the reserves yet? We might need him given our defensive shortcomings/injuries!

Absolutely not!

The answer for our shite defending can't be young reserves, bring in experienced quality.

FFS, give Naybet a call

Well yes I wasn't really being serious about him being the solution to our problems, but he did seem a big strong guy who was good in the air and, well, was just wondering what had happened to him!

Here are the latest news: he played with the reserve 3 times since Nov, first time 20 minutes in november, then the second half vs Fulham early Dec and the full game vs Liverpool.
I saw him vs Fulham where he was quite good, and our friend Ray from Spursodissey who attends all the reserve games reported a good game vs Liverpool. He was not assessed totally fit yet after nearly one year off to join the PL team. Sure he will have to play some more games and he may have a chance. I think the training and medical teams prefer a progressive come back. He has a real physical presence but also a good technical skill. Hope to see him soon!

I saw him in the Fulham reserve game when he replaced Ledley at half time. And also against Liverpool reserves - when from leading 1-0 we lost 2-1, conceding a winner which came late in the game from a header from a free kick. Sound familiar?

I like the look of Dervite. I think he could get ahead of Kaboul when he's fully fit. He just seems to be more of a centre back. Strong, good decision making and can placea pass.

With Kaboul crocked and Dawson so woefully short of confidence we need reinforcements in this area. Although I think we'll be buying someone in the transfer window.

I think that injury he picked up could have been one of the worst injuries we've suffered in recent years - based on the flimsiest of evidence I really think he could have been one of the CBs we needed

Southend have won 9 out of 12 games since he's gone there. He's getting bigged up pretty regular by their fans. I thought he looked really good in the Port Vale game for us, got big hopes.

he's class. hope he goes to the championship next year and lights that up too, it's too hard to see if a defender's prem-level down in the league one unfortunately

He is a more then capable 5th choice centre half for us behind King Woodgate Dawson and Corluka
