Whatever happened to the days when transfers just seemed to happen in a day?
I'm sure its the media's fault and they would claim its because they're doing their jobs properly and getting stories early, but I'm sure we all prefer deals like the Modric signing rather than these long drawn out affairs (i.e Dos Santos).
Ultimately with drawn out deals there is no real satisfaction to be had. You hear the story, get your hopes up while also remaining mindful that 99% of what you hear is nonsense, and then spend the next 3 weeks waiting for confirmation which, when you get it, only fills you with relief that the deal hasn't fallen through and made the club look stupid.
We fans seem to have been robbed of that fist-shaking, disbelieving "Get in!!" satisfaction that comes with a shock signing like Modric. Pisses me off - damn papers ruin everything. :bang:
