Whatever happened to the days when transfers just seemed to happen in a day?

I'm sure its the media's fault and they would claim its because they're doing their jobs properly and getting stories early, but I'm sure we all prefer deals like the Modric signing rather than these long drawn out affairs (i.e Dos Santos).

Ultimately with drawn out deals there is no real satisfaction to be had. You hear the story, get your hopes up while also remaining mindful that 99% of what you hear is nonsense, and then spend the next 3 weeks waiting for confirmation which, when you get it, only fills you with relief that the deal hasn't fallen through and made the club look stupid.

We fans seem to have been robbed of that fist-shaking, disbelieving "Get in!!" satisfaction that comes with a shock signing like Modric. Pisses me off - damn papers ruin everything. :bang:

The internet is at fault, too easy to pass information on and for newspapers then to pull the storys from there!

and if you hate the paper talk, dont read them, or go to the transfer rumour forum  its not hard to miss them, if i didnt go to the transfer forum i wouldnt know about most of the players we are being linked with

Then only look at the official site. RUmours and that place do not exist together.

But I know what you mean. I love the signings like Atouba a couple of years ago when its just like who the FUCK is that and its completely out of the blue and you cant wait to see him play. And then you do see him play and its downhill from there.

However it is true that random quality signings are the most satisfying. Woodgate was another one without much buildup, which was much more satisfying than Hutton, even though theyre probably equally important

I kind of like what Man utd have done today with the Aaron Ramsey deal even though the deal isnt complete they have come out and said a fee has been agreed and they are waiting to talk to the player and he will be joining them subject to personal terms being agreed and medical being passed! Why cant we be like that with transfers like the Dos Santos one where there have been so much speculation, If the speculation is true and we have nearly signed him just say on the web site! Or if we arnt intrested in him come out and say it! Be alot easier and would stop all this speculation on certain deals!

you mean like we have done with Bostock? (sp) we have agree to sign him, but havnt aranged a fee with the club, but because he is young then we can take it to a tribunal. We came out earleyr this week and said basicly the same as Man U!

United's is a bit different, they're agreed the fee, but not personal terms.

The key point is United have more pull & they will be confident of getting him, we'd be more likely to end up with egg on our faces, we didn finish 11th after all.

I don't get why people are so crazy about the damn signature, it's not as if we can see him play in our colours for 2 months is it?

nah the other way round. Ramsey is under contract they agreed a fee for him. Man utd can now start talking with Ramsey. However their is another unamed club who have also agreed a fee. I would laugh if Man utd dont get him

Hah ok.

Just like we've had a bid accepted for Dos Santos, but we're unnamed because it's only the press that say it.

It's arsenal mate, deal with it.

Come on, its so much more fun this way. We might all lead productive lives if these transfer sagas didn't unfold so slowly, what good is that?

BBC are usually very reliable and if this was Tottenham we'd be taking it as gospel. It's always funny when people have selective belief.

I guarantee Arsenal have had a bid accepted. We may or may not have been the 3rd club that didn't bid enough.

Im not saying arsenal haven't. Im just saying that you can have an opinion on thinking it may be arsenal. but you can not state its Man utd and Arsenal. You can only state its Man utd and an unamed club.

BBC wales has some of the best ears around and they are more often right rather then wrong. However they can get it wrong. Like anybody else
