Surely this means they won't sign Hulk?
Getting both of them would be an FFP disaster.
No it wouldn't. In 2010/11 Chelsea's revenues were €249.5m, appx £200m.
FFP rules mean that Chelsea can only spend £200m in the transfer market in the same year.
only £200m
People need to read about FFP ! Everyone has the wrong end of the stick!
Especially as now it looks like they will miss out on the battersea power station development site.
No FFP doesn't mean that. I haven't pored over the fine print, but wages are included in the expenditure, and it's limited to a percentage of turnover, not all of it. So they can't spend all of their turnover on transfers without falling foul of FFP.No it wouldn't. In 2010/11 Chelsea's revenues were €249.5m, appx £200m.

always listen to uncle kaz, called him going to chelsea from the start of this stupidly long thread
Do we think someone like Roman would not have sought assurances that his plaything won't be barred from competitions etc before he spent such sums? Of course he would have! These deals prove that FFP won't be of any use at all.
I'm inclined to agree, but it would be a delicious irony if UEFA did enforce it and Chelski did fall foul of it, as it was endorsed by all of the established CL-participating clubs in an effort to consolidate their position by protecting them against the likes of Citeh and PSG. Particularly hypocritical of Chelski in view of the fact that if it hadn't been for Abrahmovitch they wouls have 'done a Leeds' and would possibly be in the Conference by now.Financial fair play is a complete non-starter. When it was announced, Chelsea spent £75m in transfer fees alone on two players remember! Two players. Torres and Luiz are on well over 100k a week, Torres closer to taking that home after tax I imagine, so there is another £15m a year in wages for these two alone.
If the figures reported for Hazard are true then he will cost them £84m over 5 years.

One things for sure Hazard isnt going to tippy toe around defenders as easy in the Premiership as he did in France, cant wait till the Hudd hits him with the shoulder sending him flying through the hoardings...
