and the first 30 secs of his spurs career stuck ray parlou r on the floor

That was brilliant, just stood up whilst he was above him.

Also, Porto friendly, the two outrageous shots from the left wing position.

Thought the majority of his performances were pretty average but his effect on the club was massive. His pedigree and his presence were massive and you could suddenly see the younger lads realise we could be serious contenders. I honestly think it was his arrival that allowed us to start believing again. Think our current squad would really benefit from a similar signing...guess gattusso would be the closest equivalent out there at the moment.

the same edgar davids that slagged us off to urby emmanualsen and stop him from moving to us?

how do you know he slagged us off? he simply said furby should stay and continue with ajax get into the cl and then go to the inters, milans, barcas and madrids of this world. Which was his personal advice from playing at tottenham and in the EPL

to be fair he probably just told him straight. We had just signed Bale, had Lee still very much in the frame and BAE returning from injury. Emanuelson is a regular for Ajax - a top team. I have no doubts Davids merely told him that we wouldn't be able to promise that, and he'd be right.

Gattusso would be a great signing but i doubt he would have the same effect of Pitbull.
He would engineer the midfield and probably has a little more in terms of football to offer than Davids did when he joined us.
Davids was a winner with a tenacity and encouraged the others along him.
His attitude was brilliant.
I believe that he also had a feud with Jol.

I for one was well happy seeing edgar run out at WHL, it was really good to have such a recognised world class player playing for us and proud to be a yid.

Pretty sure it wasn't.

I believe Keane is a pretty handy boxer...

I think he'd be like Mickey in Snatch.

'Ya like dags?'

Anyway, pretty nice from Edgar, loved it when he played for us, always will remember being there when he scored his first and only goal for us, amazing day at Wigan!

Nice touch Ed, and yes Keane knocked him down in one.

Didn't Edgar show Keano his studs in a tackle? I thought that was how it kicked off anyway. Keano may well have lamped him, Edgar seemed so un-pitbull-like off the pitch.

Nice of him to send a congrat tho.

If we'd had a player with similar mentality at the start of this season I reckon we'd have had a better start.

Edgar faded towards the end of his first season but luckily for us the european spot was already in our grasp.

We really need someone like that to make sure we don't slip up out of the starting blocks next season.

I say give Huddlestone some steroids.......and poke him with cattle prods before he comes out of the tunnel just to wind him up like a raging bull!

People like Davids are missing too much from football - real men on the pitch, but with a touch of class off it. When you look at all the dogging and diving most pro footballers get up to its an embarassment

We are still missing what Davids brought us - a midfield terror. He was the right player at the right time. He was just slightly past his best but was what we needed to step up from mediocrity to moving on up.

I'd like to know how many of our former players sent congratulion messages.

I was there when he made his debut for us at White Hart Lane, he came on as a sub in a pre season friendy, i think it was against Calglari or Real Sociedad ?? Ive still got that moment on my mobile, its pretty shit quality but he got a standing ovation.

Davids is one of my all-time favourite players and I only wish we could have had him at WHL sooner. I was thrilled when he joined Spurs.

Class, flair and ability. Wish we had more like him.

Hmmm. Good thought and good question.
I'd like to know that too.
I know Davids was a Spurs supporter and i heard Sherwood, Freund and of course Sheringham was.
I dunno who else was really true to Spurs.
I doubt Judas sent a congrat tho...

Some players that graced WHL were simply awesome and breath taking.
Pitbull, Ginola, Hoddle, Gazza, Lineker, Waddle, Klinsmann, Sheringham, Berba, Keane... Ardiles, Villa....
