I’ve probably watched this over a dozen times over the years and it never ceases to make me laugh. I’m just permanently immature. 😂
I once belted this out in a karaoke restaurant, after nearly pissing myself when spotting it in the song list booklet.

Still have Vietnam flashbacks to several parents dining with their kids, watching on in horror as a half-pissed “adult” yells on stage about ejaculating.

This one feels like a pivotal signing to me. We saw how bad poor CBs made Arsenal look but then this season they brought in Saliba (in particular) and things started slotting into place. Stability at the back breeds confidence right through the team and if Tapsoba is as good as he appears, that will give us a huge lift. He can be our Saliba. Even better if we can get Van de Ven or Adarabioyo (or both). I think getting Soloman on a free also gives us funds to go big at CB. Fingers crossed for some more good news.

Agreed. I feel this is where we always fail though and a pivotal signing that is costly never gets completed. I just hope this time it’s different.

I'm hoping Levy has recognised that he has to pull out all of the stops now. We slipped way behind last season playing God awful football by the end and he got some serious heat at the ground. So far our transfer business has been right on point so I'm very hopeful this gets done. Getting Solomon on a 'free' also means we didn't chuck millions at St. Maximin or whoever, and I think that's preserving funds to spend at CB. We could do with 2 CBs but I'd imagine a second will have to wait until some outs have been done.

Agree mate.

Tapsoba or similar is a key signing. Seems like we are pushing for this before our Asia tour.

I hope we can get him or another target signed up before then but I also hope we are targeting at least another CB signing on top of this and ideally not Lenglet.

I think we need 2 new fresh ones that suit Ange's style of football Tapsoba and Van De Ven or Tosin (2 of these + Romero + one of Dier/Sanchez/Tanganga/Rodon as 4th choice should be a decent combination)

any idea when we fly out?
I assume 13th or so to give time to acclimatise etc

Think if there's one position we should be splashing out on to guarantee quality it's that first choice LCB spot.

If Leverkusen are open to selling I think it's worth paying extra to get our first choice in Tapsoba as the drop-off to our other targets seems bigger than, say, Raya -> Vicario.

Sky reporting Laporta stating that Lenglet to become permanent.

Disappointed if true. Considering the good work already done in a short space of time and very little money spent.

I see very little reason to keep him on.

Would be a bad signing imo. Certainly would feel like a bargain option. Whilst I’d still expect us to get another CD I still feel Lenglet will just be another body we will struggle to find a buyer for in two seasons time. He’s neither young with potential, HG or experienced and commanding. He’s just okay.

Every successful side has just okay pro's to cover the starting xi unless your city you cant have world class players warming your bench in every position. The problem will be if he is being signed as a regular starter. as long as we still sign another LCB I have no issue with signing Lenglet as a squad player.

John o Shea had a very succesful United career. The scums invincibles had pascal cygan sometimes we need to make smart squad signings not just world class starting xi signings. I certainly prefer him to Dier, Snachez or Tanganga.

100% this, he's better that Dier Davies Sanchez Tanganga and Rodon. If we're shifting most of those a cheap decent squad player is smart business.

He's okay.

But he'll struggle even more under our new football.

I disagree, I think we can rely on Davies much more than Lenglet but hopefully if we can get Tapsoba in then we won't have to find out.

I'm really not sure what you and others have seen in him to favour him over the likes of Davies and even Dier imo.

Let's cut the crap. No one really wants Lenglet back. He isn't good enough as a squad option. I want Tapsoba and another in but it better not be Lenglet in too

Every transfer is a risk. Most would say Vicario is riskier than Raya, and Solomon riskier than Barnes. And on the flipside that Maddison is a safer bet than some of the alternatives mentioned for AM.

Romero's CB partner, plus another CB with pace, is fundamental to our prospects this season. Ending up with Tosin and Lenglet will not be good enough... just like last year's collection of CBs were not good enough...

And this is the exact problem. The club always falls short when it matters.

Can't we wait a few weeks with that verdict?

So far the club made early and excellent business. Obviously we need a top LCB the most, but lets wait what they come up with.

If Ange is on board having Lenglet in the squad i am all in for it.
