So by selling Kane we’re now able to fund a young back up striker and a £30M unproven centre half.
Fuck me we behave like we’re skint despite record Matchday revenues and TV money. No wonder Kane wants out - our lack of ambition is embarrassing

Even with that info, I don’t really understand why we haven’t pulled the trigger on one already … as many have said.

Only reason I can think of is not knowing how much we would have up front from H cash.
I just don't get it. If we don't get CBs sorted soon, and our defence starts this season like it played the last one, with us conceding a ton, Postecoglou might not get long in the job. At a minimum it's not setting him up for success.

We can't just parachute a new CB into the team a after the season starts and expect him to do well.

What? The ITK said we’re buying two centre backs and a striker.

Ludicrous that the Kane transfer is holding these up. We need at least one of them wether Kane goes or not.

And I’m saying are we so skint we have to sell our best player to fund such deals. It’s not difficult to understand

Do you think that shows ambition? We should comfortably be able to get that business done without selling our best player

I'd say we need both regardless. The way our club does things is absolutely incomprehensible.

I am querying why you only mentioned a young striker and unproven centreback in your comment, as that is not what the ITK said. But carry on raging if that is how you plan to spend your Saturday afternoon.

Would be OK with that, actually.

Not Rich's biggest fan but I think we'll struggle to find a number 9 who is quite so well suited to this system. Do we really need to drop silly money on Vlahovic or whoever if it means benching a £60m forward that is arguably a better fit for this style of football than they are?

I think the young forward would ideally be someone with massive potential who can also play out wide and get minutes there and be competition for Kulu, etc. Would have to be a proper investment on a big upcoming talent not some cheap punt or Frasier Campbell ballbags.

If only we had £50 million sat in a bank account that's already registered with companies house for a share issue taken up just gathering interest.........

Surely with the $50MM credit line, and the deep need for CBs, we get one of these done before Harry leaves. You’d hope the better of the two (Tapsoba) and then pivot to a cheaper option for VDV if the Kane money does not come in. We are one of the wealthiest clubs in the world, in dire straits without a high quality CB. Levy’s mentality needs to change.

Let's be honest, we'll use the Kane money to sign two CBs we should be signing anyway, plus a relatively cheap forward and this will be sold as a huge investment in the team to offset the loss of Kane.

We should be signing two centre backs regardless of the Kane sale and if Levy uses Kane's sale to finally justify fixing our defence a lot of fans will go postal.

I just got an email from Halifax saying my rate on my savings account has just gone up by 0.01%. Think of the Benjamins Trix.

I've seen this referred to a couple of times recently - I thought it was reported that it had to be spent last summer. If that wasn't the case, it's doubly frustrating that we're dragging our heels over moves we needed to make last summer, never mind this one.

So what if spending big(ish) money on Tapsoba would embolden Bayern Munich in negotiating for Kane so not spending it before the Kane deal is sorted suits Bayer Leverkusen as they wouldn't want to do Bayern any favours, plus of course we would be able to spend bigger(ish)
Sort of fits in with what dovakiin posted.

So, we'll possibly, not guaranteed though of course, get the business we need doing this summer done but will sell Harry without reinvesting that.

And many will be satisfied, happy even, with this. No wonder things never change, there's no need for them to do so.

FML with this club.

Zero ambition, and we are surprised Kane wants to go.
