Does anyone else just see this as him telling Levy to open his wallet and invest in the squad to make Spurs one of the big boys? That's how I read it.

And if Levy doesn't, he wants to be allowed to leave. I'd say that's fair enough.

Yes, yes, I do.

If there is a change at Tottenham - some more money is made available - I wouldn't be against the idea of staying"

I read that as him wanting a payrise

Unless he means more money is made available for transfers...

If he were to leave then we'd get decent money for him (especially if it were to someone like PSG, I'm sure Daniel would love dealing with them) then Baines would be the standout option for a replacement. Depends how loyal he is, but Everton always need to sell to buy and him and and Rodwell are there most sellable assets. Only thing is if Baines becomes available I'm sure Man Utd would be in for him too...

Meh. Players come and go. Benny's always been in it for the money (who isn't...), but hope he stays cuz he has been a good player for us, even considering his regular lapses in concentration.

Disappointed but signing Baines would soften the blow!

I always buy Jack Robinson from L'pool on FM. I say get him, he always performs and becomes a wonderkid if you play him regularly. 7-8M should be enough, but only if Harry goes out in the press saying how much he likes the lad and that he is a t'rrfic player. That's how I get him anyway.

If that doesn't work (which by all means would be completely ridiculous, seeing that FM is closer to reality than reality itself), then Baines is not a bad call.

thought alba was Barca bound but they have a bigger target for lb now...

Anyone think that Harry told Bae or other players to come out with this stuff in the press? would surprise me in the slightest

I read it like that even with the translation.

Spend money on the signings now!

Not winning a title with your club can give you want to move?
During the season I had a discussion with my president, he told me that if I was a big club foot, we could sit down to discuss it. I do not know what the future will. For me, winning titles is cool but I prefer to make money (laughs).
There is a club that makes you dream?
Frankly no. I prefer to focus on the city and it is really very good in London. And plus I'm spoiled for choice with all the London clubs.
In addition to Arsenal left-back problems ...
(He cuts) They mainly problems with Tottenham (laughs). This is not a possible transfer.
Yet some have done?
Who? When Sol Campbell did, he was free, same with Gallas. Changing clubs is tolerated but certainly not transfers.

For what it's worth, I think he'll stay, I really don't think he's gunna kick up as much of fuss as Modric, and there's no way he'll be as in demand as him. Levy won't let him go especially when we're already looking to buy at least 2 strikers, backup on the wing, long term keeper as well as Vertonghen and clutching at straws of the slight possibility of Hazard. I don't think BAE will necessarily want to leave and I'm sure has has said time and time again he loves London, so he can't be too hell bent on leaving

...baring in mind, when Rafa is off then Modric assumes the role and is quite abysmal!

totally! i absolutely hate seeing him taking corners or freekicks as then it becomes just a waste of time or worse an opposition chance in the making...

BAE has always been honest about the way he sees the game. He's not a badge kisser. He loves playing football, but he know's he's the hired hand. This seems to be simply in the context of that.

What I would say is that gentleman's agreements are somewhat invalidated when their existence is broadcast in the media. It's one thing having an agreement that if a bigger club should come in and make an acceptable offer it would be considered, and it's quite another to start canvassing for the bigger club. I think BAE may be in for a surprise on that score.

Agreed. Though I think as a hired hand you don't rely on informal agreements, you deal with the print and the signature on the contract. Being completely (DL) businesslike about it and hardnosed as Benny, the Spurs answer presumbaly is 'No. You can't go. It says it here.' Live by the sword, die by the sword.

I don't think any other team will come in for Benni.

Also, you have to be deluded if you for one second think Man City would sell Kolorov to us or Everton would let Baines go.

To be honest, I'd be disappointed in any of our players who didn't want to consistently compete at the highest level. Hopefully BAE realises he can do this at Spurs and is just calling for the chairman to invest in the squad.

Maybe, but don't forget Everton have to sell anyone before they can buy. Aside from Baines and Rodwell, who have they got that could fund a summer's transfers? Fellaini, maybe. Jelavic? They only just bought him.

kolorov is crap. he gets the ball and shoots, that's literally all he does. it doesn't surprise me that the bus likes him, we all know how good he is at rating fullbacks .

Don't blame him. We don't pay enough and the stadium has been a long running saga.

Swansea's left back is good. How old is Figueroa? Can't think of many other options

plenty of good and better than ekotto left backs out there. we wont have any problem getting a good full back if we have champions league. besides only club that will come in for ekotto from abroad imo will be / could be PSG. they have money so im sure it would be a good deal for us.
