If we get away with 3 deaths looking at some of the pictures and factoring in tonight's attacks I think we will be lucky.

What a tragic farce from the UEFA and the French.
Can we really say it's a farce by EUFA and French officials yet? What seems to be the case is that large numbers of people are intent on violence. You cut stop that from happening, you have to limit the consequences, which is what the police are doing and are getting complained about doing it.

Two fans critically injured.

Why don't they ban glass bottles from all of the bars during the tournament? Just use plastics. It won't stop the fighting, but it makes them less useful as weapons.

I can, having been to Germany, Brazil, now France this is by far the worst in terms of handling fans in and around the ground. Very poorly handled.

Agreed but they should have been in the stadium. We have the home guard separating us from bloody Chelsea of West Ham fans.

The reports are saying that they've just stood by and let the England fans get attacked. I've just watched the news and there's one clip of a guy on his own just talking to about a dozen police, not appearing to be violent in any way, and they just turn around and spray him in the face with something.

Baffling how they have let it get to this stage in Marseille.

English fans are always a target abroad. Spurs fans of all people should know that. Firm or shirter, you will be targeted.
So Lawnsdowne Road Riot.. where England fans tore up the old wooden pilon's from the old stadium & through them down on top of fatjers with there seven year old kids.. bloody animals.. I was there working for RTE that night & there was no provocation.. I'll tell you this.. those Carlisle, Chelsea & Spammer fans cried like babies when they were locked into the stadium & told the Ra had been called.. revenge for Bloody Sunday is what the gards told them & they weeped like little pussies.. those F*cksh*ts causing trouble are not football supporters.. there bloody animals & no real fan of football should condone these idiots

Where has this idea that the England fans are the cause of everything? I swear something always happens at Russian football games

Well not really. Because you can stop it happening. Quite easily. Reports are saying that it was volunteer stewards, like the helpers at 2012 London who were in between the Russian animals and the England fans.

The police seem intent on letting English fans get attacked. I appreciate a lot of people hate England and English fans for the past. But that was thirty years ago. A lot of people just hate England full stop.

The idea that it is England fans fault is ridiculous. It's a war zone out there. Shame on the French.

I've never followed England abroad so maybe I'm just naive.

Is it not possible to enjoy a few beers well
away from the city centre and stadium and then just make your way to the ground?

Of course it shouldn't have to be like that and it wouldn't prevent getting attacked inside the stadium, but just a thought.

What's that got to do anything? Do you think I'm suggesting England fans don't cause trouble? We have just seen images of Russian fans looking for England fans to beat up. Because our fans were twats abroad before just like in the case you mentioned, means that we are all a target now.
