I remember a lot distasteful stuff in 2006 and some trouble

Apologies if that's the case but most countries have these elements however IMO foreign police tend to go in all guns blazing with England fans because of our history and we also tend to be a target for foreign hooligans because of that same history which leads to things being (or appearing) a lot worse than they really are-just look how often Spurs fans and others have been targets in European Away days.

I totally agree, as we saw in Sevilla, which was terrible but the racist chanting and then trouble by a small few doesn't help us like in 2006

I honestly believe when the tournament is in europe we are more likely to face trouble as opposed further away. Also the FA and police have done a lot to stop trouble. For instance taking certain people's passport off them and also having english police with english fans

Yep, lots of England fans running round German town centres, like weird far right children, with their arms spread like bombers and chanting about the war.
Oh yes, and when coming into contact with the local ethnic minorities chanting
"I'd rather be a paki than a turk"

We need to face up to the far right thuggery that follows the England team at tournaments

well I'm out here been drinking all day with French and Russians and no issues whatsoever. Vast majority out here are enjoying it peacefully. From what I've heard locally there has been a lot of provocation from young gangs in the centre of tow the odd Russian hooligan element looking for a fight. There are no doubt English idiots throwing bottles for some fucking stupid reason but tgey are a massive minority out here. So we sing about German bombers for fuck sake they did bomb us and our gallows humour works that way get over it, the xxxi than a xxxk is embarrassing however and disgraceful.

Good friend texts:

"Before you hear on the news saying England fans kicking off!! We were in the England fanzone when French and Russians attacked! Police stood and watched!!! French police disgrace!!"

I have had a look at a good few of the videos doing the rounds and there does seem to be a lot more Russian spoken on the nasty ones IMO

Maybe time to strip Russia of 2018? Of course it wont happen but still. A poor economic and political climate, fans attacking other countries fans(after they threatenend to do so early this year and the russian authorites clearly did nothing about it). Recipie for disaster.

The FA and British authorities work hard to deny travel to known hooligans. I wonder if the Russian authorities do the same

A good test of who's to blame will be when England and Wales converge next week and the Russians meet the Slovakians

Not really as Russia and Slovakia are playing in Lille where a lot of England fans will be based as it's about half an hour from Lens.

Apparently some England fans have put a flag up saying "Vladimir Putin is a fat nonce"

Watching it on the news now. Absolutely sickening. And I'm not pointing fingers at anyone.
