We are only existing. No direction football wise. No class business wise. It’s quite scary how little the fans mean now. We’re just numbers. 5 years today since we let them do this...

Are we any better?

Well, bottom line is...Levy! He has ultimate control! Seems, and you can correct me if I'm not being fair to you, that you have the "hope" that Levy can adapt to our needs on an ongoing footballing basis. That's about overseeing obvious squad quality decline, taking shortcuts re Jose and Bale...basically avoiding the necessity of the rebuild. We all know football's fucked, and we're somewhere lower in the financial food chain re top clubs.

Levy's still helped to bring us up there in the conversation financially; huge credit to him for that! He simply needs an intervention imo re so many issues that a "real" DOF could sort out. Levy has to give up real control for that to actually work. It's a Levy issue for me that's holding us back on the playing side. I'm not talking about the great work he's done re our future.

Also imo, ENIC/Levy out protests can put a much-needed fire up Levy's arse to make some of those adjustments.

Well said.

One thing I hate about this thread/topic, is the animosity it creates between members with differing opinions. At the end of the day, aren't we all Spurs?

For me, it's simple. When it comes to off the pitch, infrastructure & growth of the THFC brand, I genuinely wouldn't switch Levy for any other chairman/owner in world football. That side of things really can't be questioned.

Paying £22M for a club that had a nice enough history, but was a mid-table club at best, with the odd cup run thrown in. That was our level. However, it's now a world wide brand in its own right and, should anyone wish to purchase the club today, they'll be forking out the best part of £2billion, if not more!.

The club is unrecognisable from the one which he took over.

However, at the end of the day, the bread and butter is what happens on the pitch, and in the squad. This is where he must now not only take a step back, but fuck off as far away from it as possible & bring in a DOF to oversee all footballing matters and decisions.

I can appreciate & respect the unquestionable good he's done for the club. But when it comes to the team/squad, he's hurting us to the point where he's almost singlehandedly undoing all of the work that saw us climb from mid-table mediocrity, to European/CL regulars.

That's an awful lot of words typed, to basically say, Daniel, leave the football stuff to football people.

Can’t winner this enough. To some there’s no inbetween on here. People can you know recognise his good work but criticise his flaws on the footballing side, whilst still maintaining he is a good chairman to stay in place for now.

Winnered this Coops! Keep a blowtorch up Levy's arse to remove himself from critical footballing decisions, and get us a proper DOF that can do his job meaningfully and we're in a better place...however long that takes. Think we're far more patient than some folks seem to think as long as there's a clear vision on the football side.

This is a good post and I think despite all the arguments everyone is pretty much on the same page here and would like this to happen.

@vegassd Just as I responded to you:

I'm concerned they've really shot themselves in the foot in terms of trying to make actual positive changes.

Arsenal aren't going to suffer much then!!!

If that set of punishments come to fruition I would say it's pretty laughable and just goes to show how toothless UEFA are. I think they know that their competitions would be naff without the big clubs which is probably why they are so lenient in regards to FFP. But that's all for another thread.

In a weird way I think ENIC are a pretty good option for trying to make decent changes to how the money and power is distributed around the football world. The epitome of a calm head that can check their emotions at the door. It's those sorts of people who get stuff done (in my opinion) which is why it's such a shame that THST seem to be acting in the opposite manner.

Like you say, there are plenty of issues in football that could be done so much better and I get the feeling that the current round of owner protests will just be a distraction from the issues that can actually be solved. The online echo chambers will ring loudly for a while until the latest distraction arrives and things go back to how they were.

A step in the right direction, I know it will be looked at by some as placating but the pressure from our fans (not just specifically THST) has at least got them to acknowledge the immense fuck ups in their lack of due diligence in getting into bed with the ESL.

It'll be interesting going forward to see what that fan involvement looks like because with how things are between the THST and the board atm, it's difficult to see if it's somebody from THST that will be in that role unless some dialogue gets started.

Good move by the club and goes some way to explaining the thought process and decision to join the ESL. Hopefully we can all move on rather than continuing to use this as another stick to beat ourselves up with. We’re all Spurs after all.

Daniel got bullied into that one
Come on mate, you really think a guy who you continuously accuse of giving not one crap about what the fans think, and who has a captive audience providing revenue, is getting bullied into anything?

While I suspect there will be an element of tokenness to this supporter involvement, the mere fact that the club has acted to this extent, while we’ve just had words from the other clubs, shows a far more sincere understanding of the damage caused and will to put it right than with any of the other ESL clubs.

Do you think Yankspurs has a thought process?
