Levy has always demanded too much that's why none of the Korean or any other companies have actually bitten. Yes, our pull is certainly greater now, but I'd imagine the price is too.
You don't actually know this, though. We had itk a while back that a deal was more or less agreed and soon to be announced before COVID struck.

Besides, Todd Kline is now the man responsible for the naming rights deal. More than anyone else at the club, including Levy, he knows that market. You don't hire someone like him just to second guess him. Or if you do second guess him, he'll quit.

He's still with us as far as I know.

We did reportedly have a deal lined up with HSBC, but senior leadership changed, and they scrapped the whole thing. But then, nothing has ever been fully confirmed with the naming rights situation, it is all speculation really

LG were the shirt sponsors for Bayer Leverkusen when Son played for them.

well, it's pretty apparent isn't it? I do know a little bit about the Korean context, but you can take that or leave it- it won't matter to me either way. Anyway, back to the golf.

I still think that Levy hasn't been in a particular rush to sort the naming rights and that he's rather pleased with the global exposure we've received from The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

While he's waiting for the right deal, our name has been out there amongst so many non footballing fans, what with all the extra-curricular activities put on.

If it's going to be the final piece of his stadium jigsaw, I can understand why he wants it to be right. Everything else about the place is spot on, we don't want to sell the sponsorship short if we're going to be stuck with it for a couple of decades.

K league game was most streamed sporting event in Korean history is a bit bonkers. As said I’ll be very surprised if levy and Kline weren’t working on big commercial opportunities while there. I wonder how much overflow there is to other Asian countries.
As far as I can tell, the highest viewership for esports events in Korea is ~250k - which I would have expected to be the most viewed streaming sports events. So 2 million viewers for this match is off-the-charts huge.

I suppose it’s quite hard to gauge how many Korean fans will stay with us when Sonny finally leaves. Personally I think we’ve got another good 5 years of him. I think once you become involved supporting a team for 3/4 years it’s quite hard to then just drop it. I think Drogba was quite big in Chelsea African following.

Maybe Levy has held off on the naming rights until the stadium is in full swing, the squad is revamped and we're hitting as much potential as we possibly can. The alternative would have been to sign up at some time in the past and then wonder what might have been had he shown a bit more patience.

what is absolutely amazing is that 6 months ago nobody in the mega league of naming rights would have touched us, but since AC everything has changed

Just looking at the biggest naming rights deals in different sports and you’d imagine Levy would be pushing for £10m+ a year as a multi-use venue. The recent Barcelona Spotify deal has apparently blown the (fraudulent) Man City Emirates deal (£15m) out of the water apparently but difficult to figure out the value just for the naming rights bit. The top US stadiums seem to push $20m per year and there have been some contentious mega deals there recently. Crypto.com ($35m), SoFi ($30m) Interesting times.

Try £25m-£30m.

I've said before the deal agreed pre-covid fell into this range. Levy will get the deal he wants eventually.

I understand why the deal hasn't happened yet, even Todd Kline said it was impossible with COVID because prospective partners need to experience the stadium in person to really appreciate how special it is.

the club is currently on a steep upward trajectory so the naming rights are also becoming increasingly valuable. Meanwhile there are commercial and brand benefits to using the name Tottenham Hotspur stadium which are also increasing as more non-football events take place.

Finding the right partner and the best timing was never going to easy. I’ve no idea about the ideal sponsor, but as far as the timing is concerned I personally think it’s a good thing we haven’t done this deal yet
