There is not much Daniel can say right now that will make fans happy, he has been screwing up all over the place. However if he keeps his word and stays away from the football side and lets our general manager or whatever Patrici’s title is get on with it I guess it will be a start but actions speak louder than words.

He is going to be disliked badly at least for a while but fans are fickle, if he does well for 2-3 seasons coming up he can turn things back around to some degree but it’s will be a lot of work.
Just needs to go that's it

Haha! What’s he doing? This has damage control written all over it. Obviously we’re hiring someone shit like Dyche or that Portuguese bloke. No way he’d be doing this bollocks if we were getting anyone decent. He’s clearly shat himself at the fan reaction.

I’ll tell you now, Danny boy, it’s going to take a lot more than a 5 minute piece of fluff to sort out the mess you lot have made of our football team. Honestly, this is just so desperate and it’s going to hurt a lot more in a few months when people aren’t buying tickets
This is it people need to start staying away from games who is what I will be doing and for the first time that I can remember I will go a whole season without visiting the ground.
But more need to do it and stop buying merchandise from spurs outlets these people care only for the sound of the till both else.

The summer is bringing more heartache. He is quite clearly selling Kane. He is hiring a manager for cheap & surrounding him with yes men to save money. Talking about FFP when it's essentially gone now. They arent investing into the squad when they should and could. They are so worried about doing a Leeds when the fact of the matter is, it would be 100% their own fault as they have saddled us with £1bn debt all because they refused to invest. That was an incredible amount of bullshit.
Is that what he said hiding behind FFP which dont exist in the form it did do is cowardly and weak.

He has just said we will invest in the squad however there were two massive caveats. It must be sustainable and things will be tough for two years.
i believe it is therefore clear we will need to sell Kane and will be using some not all of his transfer fee to buy some new players. If you add in a few other sales such as aurier, sissoko and Lucas (for example) our new man has a pot of money to invest on a sustainable basis. He could have said he is under contract but said we won’t be discussing individuals, a classic issue avoidance response.
As we are clearly financially viable on a long term basis and as DL said been very unfortunate short term to be denied stadium Income for 18 months I do find it frustrating that Tavistock won’t invest funds now to stabilise and help the team and their investment on a longer term basis.
I applaud him communicating like this at a time of crisp but the message was very demoralising for those of us who want to see a successful team on the pitch In the short term.

I wouldn't worry we haven't had a successful team for as long as I can remember.

The only thing I can do watching this, is imagine him with bacon and egg on his baldy, being fried in the hot summers sun.

I trust his words as about as far as I can throw an elephant. The shameful lies... We haven't spoken to none of them...

Really? Then why are so many people at the club so pissed off with you.

F**king liar.

I must admit, Levy coming out with this interview does make me worry about the summer ahead.

Felt like an explanation in advance of:

A) Kane leaving
B) An underwhelming manager coming in
C) Not to expect much transfer wise as we are skint
D) it's all on Fabio now

To be fair to him it is commendable doing a video like that regardless of how cynical you want to view it.

I do believe he wants the club to succeed, and that they reinvest all of the turnover. I also believe that reinvested money was spent a lot more freely on assets that improved ENICs investment when the playing side needed it. Time will tell if the future stadium funds do help the team. That trust will have to be earned however. He's keen to admit we lost the most revnue from the pandemic but also admits there are other clubs in a lot more trouble for us.

Clearly is troubled by what people say. Seemed to be an excuse for the 'Grealish' summer in there and obviously he's been frustrated by media talk around this manager hunt.

DoF incoming is undoubtedly good news. I'd assume this was on the cards regardless but a cynic would also point to Baldini/Bale and wonder if history is repeating. Hopefully the plan is for him to be a long term success and not just a buffer for a rough few seasons ahead.

Let's see what happens with this summer. After what we all went through with Eriksen today I've not got the energy for hate or anger.

I think this is the crux of it for me too. The business is strong. ENIC is very wealthy.

Why not loan some funds now to take advantage of this pandemic rather than let it kill us competitively?

Why not try to make the most of the generational talent from our academy you are reluctantly selling?

Owners shouldn't have to put money in but if it's there and could make a big difference then why not do it. Just feels like we are constantly overly cautious and set more stringent restrictions on ourselves than our rivals. No wonder we always fall short.

I disagree re the Kane leaving bit. I’m not sure they needed to address the rumours and could have not said anything. This feels a little like the clubs opening gambit in terms of keeping him. Eg You’re not happy but tough.

Bring on the rainbows.

He didn't say that, did he? He said you cannot read everything you read in the media, 'cause we haven't spoken to all the names that the media says we have. Not "spoken to none of them".

Attack him all you want, but please attack what he says, not what you percieve he is saying.

Appreciate the optimism but surely if the intention was to keep him you'd say it there and then.

This felt like putting everything going on this summer - kane, manager, dof, transfers - under the lens of covid screwing us in the short term.

Pathetic interview

lots of generalised cautious statements along the be careful what you wish for line

Sob story about the bad timing of the stadium yet contradicts himself saying it’s all funded by long term debt

Didn’t think it was possible to dislike the man even more than I do but certainly feel that way watching that

he’s stale and totally uninspiring - no wonder so few top level managers want to work here

It's a weak lazy excuse designed to get him away from the mess.

I'm naturally a cynic at heart

With my cynic hat on Levy has a firewall in place now in the form of the DOF to hide behind when Kane is sold

"Wasn't me guv, it was the dof"

You’re probably right, it’s just not the first reaction I had. I’m sure we’ll know soon enough when the DoF starts chatting on.

He talks as if the debt belongs to everyone including the fans.

Does that mean the fans get a slice of the profits when Levy sells up all the assets that are being paid for over squad investment?

Really surprised he did the video, very unlike him but hes obviously feeling the pressure and discontent from the fans.

my biggest takeaway is when he starts mentioning how proud about being self sustainable and adhering to financial fair play....

Hell.... if the other top 8 clubs were like that we'd be ok and more of an equal playing field, the truth is though there not..... There getting investment into the team and pushing on, whilst we're sitting around spending what we make....I'm not saying I want to be like a City or Chelsea, but if you dont up your game and bend the rules like the others and get some proper investment, the gap between us and them just gets bigger.

I think it's safe to assume that he would be a big advocate of FFP because he likes the control of money.
But it's up to clubs what they want to spend if you can't or won't then fuck off and let someone else have a go.

I hope so. It's my only real issue with him to be honest, but it's been amplified massively over the last couple of months.
I agree with this. I think he's pretty good chairman, who is passionate about the club but he's messed around too much in the football side and it's tainted fans opinions of him.
If the last few years have given him some introspection and realised he's part of the issue then great.
He's a smart business operator and moves like the LoCelso deal and how he structured it are a real strength of his. Unfortunately I think he tries that when the situation doesn't warrant it.
