Eric Dier is our fastest player!

This came as quite a surprise but, according to Mail Online, Eric Dier has been our quickest player this season, with only Sterling, Downing, Wasilewski, Zaha & Sissoko clocking faster speeds so far this season.

i had to change a flat tyre in Toxteth once (whilst wearing an orange shirt....i know). I was that quick, im surprised i never got offered a job in F1!

I believe the whole Daily Mail's assessment on players speed is inaccurate, subjective and a load of BS. But believe it if you must

Ydelin, Walker and Lennon - maybe even Townsend - must be faster than Dier. But Dier sure got good top speed too - and hopefully he'll come to terms with "life" in the EPL asap and establish himself as a top-quality CB.

Can imagine he'd give anyone a good race over 40metres +

The fact these top speed stats always show players that aren't even thought of as the quickest at their clubs (with 1 or 2 exceptions) means their methods of measuring seem flawed.

He's the quickest in that he's clocked the top speed in a game so far. But in actual game play acceleration over the first 10-20 metres is far more important.
