Perhaps one where we will hang in there for a permanent deal, if it can’t be done, late loan. Better to have someone else paying him than us.
I also can't see him getting many offers as a 30 year old off the back of an average - poor season last year then missing a year out not being registered. Even on a free puntDier digging his heels in after not being involved in a match day squad is just bizarre tbh
Because we have as far as I remember, never loaned out a player in their last year of their contract. Very few clubs do.I don't understand why we wouldn't be keen to loan him?
We'd get his wages covered for a season and then he can leave for free.
Maybe we will try for a sale in January.I don't understand why we wouldn't be keen to loan him?
We'd get his wages covered for a season and then he can leave for free.
He's on big wages and at best 5th choice, so no sense in not getting him out and getting a little money covered.
I think this precedent is already set for anyone who thinks they can pocket a much bigger signing on fee/have more options on a free, particularly for players like dier who arent on an upward trajectory.Whereas loaning him out may make sense on a stand alone basis, it does set a precedent for any other
unwanted players to only accept loan moves for their final year.
