The fact that United walked away from a transfer this summer due to unrealistic pricing is what encourages me. I thought they had a bottomless pit of cash these days.

Reports saying the valuation is £20m apart. That's probably preliminary valuation too. When you consider we are willing to sell Walker and City still can't get that over the line, imagine how difficult it would be for Utd to get Dier.

I just can't see it happening, and I really hope we stand firm.

This would actually be a bad move for absolutely everyone concerned

Eric is nowhere near a £50m player, he fits into our team because of our system. Take him to United and he goes back to being a slightly above average DM, something he is less able at the larger the pitch. Look how he plays in the England team

It's more of a statement of not selling him from our point of view

But for anything north of £60m I think it might be a no brainer.

I genuinely think there are only four people we couldn't afford to lose for the long term development of the club

Kane
Toby
Levy
Pochettino

The fact he doesn't rule it out is quite scary.

Nah. He doesn't need to. The fact the club has already fed info to the press saying they won't entertain any bids for Dier is enough.

Fans need to realise we are selling Walker because we want to. It would make no sense to sell Dier.

There's something weird about this one. It feels similar to Bale. I reckon he might be off come September 1st.

Poch saying he will only sell players he wants to go but that goes out the window if a player wants to go

The Star and Mirror have been now trotting out the same story for nearly two months bumping the 'price' with each incarnation of the story.

60 mill?

:ROFLMAO:

Guardian getting involved too. Hytner at the Guardian who is a gooner and as the article says, in LA, so how would he know what Dier thinks, who still seems to be on holiday in Mykonos.

Tapping up via the papers. Classic Man U.

If we sell Walker and Dier for a total of £100m, what would we do with the money? Who could we sign that we aren't trying for anyway, we can't sign the world's top players as they want high wages which we don't currently pay.

The stadium has been funded already so the money wouldn't be used for that. I would rather keep the players who helped us finish in the top three for the last two seasons, than have to sell and find replacements who aren't as good (if they are, then why aren't the other top teams trying to sign them instead)

We have probably the best coach in the world. Dier wasn't chased by the top teams when we signed him for what? 5m? 3 years ago

Dier leaving will not be the end of the world, apart from the fact we have now said we won't sell him. We could sign 3 players for his ability at CB or DM for 60m

What, you reckon we will get a world record fee for him?
Who knows, I think United will pay silly money but what's important is whether he stays or not. Walker going I can handle, but i'm really not comfortable with us losing our English core like this. I think he's quite a big part of the club's identity.

I don't think we would even consider it unless Man U were prepared to spend silly money, like £100m +, which I pretty certain they won't.

He's one of the first names on the teamsheet, so we know Poch doesn't lose him. And as he has said a few times 'we will only sell who we want to sell'. It's not happening. Everyone needs to calm the fuck down.

There is NO WAY he "Wants out". Utter bullshit. I would put my house on there also being no conversations between clubs.
