Makes sense really......Eriksen has done everything in his career very deliberately and with a great deal of thought.

He passed on other teams (including City) because he felt the wouldn't be getting as much playing time as he would with us and it would hurt his development.

I have heard that he always wanted to play at Barca as a kid (i believe he took the time to learn Spanish because of this) and PSG isn't Barca....he knows he is going to be a key player for us, he knows he is going to get attention and recognition, he seems to like Poch and the club. Why jump to a big money club when it isn't the big money club you dreamed of playing for as a kid (who have a transfer embargo this summer anyway), stick it out with the club you are having success with and wait...it's unlikely his value and market value goes down if he waits.

I look forward to seeing him playing behind Kane with some intelligent wingers and a capable midfield duo next season. Well, at least I hope to see that.

The people who are questioning how good Eriksen is because he "can't defend" are probably the same people who used to question how good Modric was because of his lack of goals or assists.

Not many players have the ability to do it all, Eriksen is still very young but is already vital to our performances (I.e. if he plays crap it's going to be a long day) and has a knack for scoring winners.

When we eventually lose him to Bayern or someone people will realise what we had.

He is easily one of our best players, still much younger than people realise and with the potential to develop into a really top class player.

Of course but with neither Chadli or Townsend knowing how to tackle it means everything is left to Bentaleb and Mason or the defenders. In the PL everyone has to play their part in helping their teams defence. Eriksen, Chadli and Townsend offer nothing defensively.

Im not sure i buy into the "young" thing with eriksen who i believe is 23 and has previously played for ajax in the champions league.
Sometimes there are too many excuses for Our team/players when things are not right, having said that we might see the best of him when the right players are brought in to free him of the shackles of what he is not good at and let him do what he is good at.

Definitely, I don't believe that Eriksen will learn how to tackle as he gets older. More that he will continue to improve and get more important to us.

I agree completely thought that we need to find wide players to compliment. If we can find right wide players our defence will also benefit hugely.

Also our present style emulates Barcelona's more than PSG so it makes sense to stay here playing a brand of football that has the dynamism to easily translate to a La Masia system.

You can question a player's ability in areas or form and not be writing him off you know.

He is having a bad time of late and is a bit of a luxury player.

By the same token, Lloris is a fantastic goalkeeper but it doesn't mean he's beyond criticism when he makes a howler or we can't notice that he defends his near post poorly(compared to other top 'keepers).

You're right.
Against Leicester, Lloris was so bad, I didn't notice him for 88mins of the game.

Lloris is dire, totally anonymous in the final third of the pitch, always waiting on his teammates to create chances. Never presses when we lose the ball either.
