15 year old Martin Ødegaard came on as sub for Norway
Really hope he goes to a club so he can progress and be looked after. Going to a Chelsea or Man City could set him back and get lost on loan somewhere. Hope money doesn't ruin his career.

Get the hell on this kid Levy!

Our youth academy is pretty good. And Poch seems willing to bring youth through. I dont think he'd get lost here whereas he would for sure get lost at chelski or city
He, his family (dad's the agent) and his club have all been very public about saying that he won't go anywhere until he's 18. But when the time comes we absolutely should be all over him. The kid's very special. Came very close to an assist tonight and shows glimpses of class.

And become the youngest ever player (so far) in a Euro qualifier. And that in a vital game for Norway vs Bulgaria.
I'm aboslutely baffled by this lad's potential. He's 15, but he's playing with the maturity of a 25 year old.

Norway were quite impressive against Bulgaria. I was one who gave the new boss Høgmo a bit of stick for playing friendlies exclusively against significantly better sides and getting well beaten but they've done it when it mattered. Decent 3-0 in Malta and a good 2-1 tonight puts us in pole for third behind Italy and Croatia.

Agree it's pretty amazing, I wonder if this kid was from an african country, his age would be questioned.
He is definitely strong for his age, I saw a feature with some classmates of his and thought he wasn't any taller than average he definitely had a more adult physique, to put it that way. Looked, and undoubtedly is, much stronger than most other footballers his age.

But his technique and maturity in possession is just phenomenal, he should be able to go all the way to a nailed-on starting position at a top club.

@Bus-Conductor You watching this?

I think you'd like Iceland, they've lined up with 2 banks of four and are playing 4-4-2 but they're pressing when needs be and they're breaking with pace when the Dutch lose the ball.

They have a player called Bjarnason who is very bright and makes some good decisions on and off the ball.

I watched the Bosnia/Belgium game earlier which was a really good game of football between two footballing teams. Pjanic and Hazard were classy as ever but Besic and Nainggolan were also really good in midfield for their respective teams.

I terms of all-round football ability I think Liverpool got the much better deal with (10m) Origi than Everton did for (28m) Lukaku. He's technically better than Lukaku, just not sure it will translate to goals in the EPL and ultimately that's how most will judge them. I'd take Liverpool's deal all day long though. Third of the price.

Lets face it, Sigurdsson had some pretty ho hum games for us, but I was disappointed that Dempsey was continually played ahead of him in that central role by AVB in his first season. He clearly had ability, but was given ad hoc games, invariably in positions that aren't his strongest in wider roles. If he'd had a season playing there instead of that fuckwit Dempsey we may just have got more out him.

I'm not overtly gutted because I think Eriksen is the better footballer and we can't play both and we were never going to get the best out of Sigurdsson playing him infrequently. But I wouldn't have minded keeping him around for another year, especially as we offloaded Holtby too, giving us no back up for that central role really.

Siggy was always going to come good. He is an AMC. We told him to play LW and never gave him an extended run of games in his natural position to see what he could do.

I wish him well.

Hiddink should never have taken charge of Oranje again, Blind should have been given the job outright instead of waiting till after Euro 2016 when Hiddick leaves, still expect them to qualify though.

Exactly, play him in the position and role that he excels in and he will deliver.

Tottenham didn't and hence why he was wasted here.

Siggy is only useful if the whole system works for him. He has great technical ability but will always struggle at a big team i guess.

some cracking games involing the home nations tonight

Germany v Republic of Ireand
Poland v Scotland
Greece v Northern Ireland

I am hoping all 3 get results but all 3 up against it, i did read though that Germany have 11 players out and the coach was complaining about the players condition, grasping straws maybe.

Why have Germany only named 6 subs (two of whom are keepers) while Ireland has 12 subs?
