g14 were formed in 2000. we have won 9 trophies since then. that's an average of 1 trophy a year, we're doing fine thank you :p

But this could be a major issue. If you were to go into a 14 team Super league there is a very good chance you will not see a trophy for a very long time.

Would this jeopardise the long term prospects for Ajax as a lot of their non-local supporters may turn to teams who are still winning things in the domestic league.

Look at the way Arsenal fans are crying about not winning a trophy in 4 seasons. We've only won the Carling during that time but it is still seen as better than nothing despite them being a bigger club in every other aspect.

Teams that are used to winning a lot of domestic trophies would have to re-acclimatise to winning nothing and that could be a huge culture shock for a lot of the 'glory boy' fans.

i think the super league can work if they implement a salary cap like in the nba.

fans will always support their local teams and the fact that said team is playing in a super league will always out favour a 'more succesful' team in a minor league.

that's why real madrid and barcelona have more followers nowadays than the likes of milan, inter and juve because la liga have surpassed serie a.

Bump!

Seems UEFA are putting a kibosh on the idea of a European Super League. Good to hear. The Prem is the best league and should remain so with all clubs in it. Certain clubs greed are getting out of hand. Glad we won't be seeing this anytime soon
