Without being a giant, he looks pretty tall from the very little I've seen of him. Good in the air, good with his feet, good passer and is able both to play with his back to goal outside the box, and attack crosses into the box. All round striker. Reminds me a touch of Sheringham.

From what little I've seen of Kane he seems to definitely have something about him and worth getting excited about. Is he 17 yet? Last time I checked he was still just 16 and doing the biz against an older age group (and captaining the team in the process!)

He's completely different to Wickham though (who's 6'3) - more slender and no where near as tall. I'd guess Kane is less than 6 foot but maybe not far off.

Exciting prospect though, look forward to seeing how he develops this year, and wonder if he's worth a loan spell in January? Might be worth waiting for the 2011/12 season for that though.

Full house, Spurs have 5 wins in a row, the only side in the competition to do that.

Spurs now play Celtic in the semi final tomorrow morning at 11 am (10 am in UK). Celtic finished second in the other group with 11 points

He's Mason Mark II in terms of how he plays but probably with better upper body strangth for his age.

Disagree, I still see Mason, despite the goals, as very much an attacking midfielder, a free roller perhaps, whereas Kane is a creative forward. Subtly different perhaps, but (to compare it to two of our greatest players, not saying either is this good), Mason is more Hoddle, you wouldn't play him as an out and out target man, while you could with Kane as he is more Sheringham, but you'd never play him as a central midfielder.

Could be a wonderful combo one day, both have that combination of creativity and finishing that would make them the perfect midfielder/ striker combo.

Our Academy squad completed a clean sweep in the group stages of the Eurofoot tournament in Belgium on Saturday.

After beating Cercle Brugge and NAC on Friday, the lads toppled Anderlecht, Standard Liege and Brondby to make it five wins in five, top Group A and set-up a semi-final clash against Celtic on Sunday.

"It's the first time we've won five straight games in a six-team group," said a naturally delighted coach Alex Inglethorpe. "Fair play to the lads, they've been outstanding."

They kicked-off the day with an impressive 4-1 win against Anderlecht with goals from Harry Kane, Kudus Oyenuga, Alex Pritchard and Massimo Luongo.

"That was the best performance so far, as good as anything I've seen," beamed Alex.

Standard Liege were then put to the sword with Pritchard on target from the penalty spot after a foul on Kane and further goals from Jack Munns and then Kane again in a 3-1 win.

The final group match was against Brondby of Denmark and Oyenuga scored the only goal of the game to make it five out of five.

FRIDAY'S ACTION

The lads kicked-off with two wins out of two on the first day of the prestigious event in Oostduinkerke on Friday.

Cameron Lancaster, Kudus Oyenuga and Harry Kane scored the goals in a 3-2 win against Cercle Brugge in the first game.

Kane then struck again, outjumping the goalkeeper to score the only goal of the game against NAC of Holland.

"We got caught a couple of times defensively in the first game but played very well in the second match, dominated possession and deserved to win," reported Alex.

Squad:

Archer, Byrne, Nicholson, Ekong, Lancaster, Luongo, Coulthirst, Kane, Pritchard, Ranieri, Oyenuga, Durojaiye, Munns, Tapping, Francis-Angol, Ward, Carroll.

So our kids have once against gone abroad and played well against other academies.

This poses a few questions....

Why have we been so successful as an adacemy against teams abroad? is it because in England we're taught to be more physical, so we therefore boss other teams out of it?

If so, what happens between the ages of the academy and the early 20s? does the fact that the players we beat put on more bulk and can deal with our physical presence better in addition to maintaining their superior technique?

Harry Kane seems to be really setting the tournament alight, hope he can go on to bigger and better things.
