Was a chance at a trophy and I wanted to see Conte do a job on Jose in the final but also absolutely not fussed we are out, we lost to the lowest ranked team lets save ourselves further embarrassment and free up some midweek slots for our postponed league games.

Not for me it wouldn't. Better than last season but not a successful one. I guess it would also lead to us questioning would we have finished top 4 without these extra games. There's no way to tell but surely much better chance. Top 4 trumps this trophy and the Carabao Cup. But I think we can still finish top 4 and win the Carabao Cup. Top 4 and Conference League would be much tougher. At least the Carabao Cup would be finished with a couple months left to close out the season though.
