Sorry if it's already been discussed, but it's been said that the SL is a bargaining tool to use against EUFA. What is it exactly that the elite clubs want from EUFA??

Bielsa via the beeb :

On the European Super League: "It shouldn't surprise us. In all walks of life the powerful look after their own and don't worry about the rest of us. The big teams are also created due to the opposition of the other teams.

"In the search for higher economic earnings they forget about the rest. The powerful are more rich and the weak are poorer. It doesn't do good to football in general.

"There are a lot of structures that should have prevented these forces from coming. For me sincerely I am not surprised because in all walks of life same thing happens, so why wouldn't it happen in football."

This is some really depressing shit.
I really hope that Uefa, Fifa and the government dont give in.
Hope we, the fans, can turn our backs to this. No fans, no money.
Hope the players turns their backs to this.

And hopefully a turning point to reform UEFA and FIFA and the EPL.

Hilarious isnt it.
The hypocrisy is whats making me sick.

It's not really hypocrisy because they're not equivalent.

I wouldn't be against a Premier League-style split from Uefa that kept an open system and was run by the clubs that were in it that year. I'm against this Super League.

That's not hypocrisy. Hypocrisy is not being fussed about the ESL once realising their team is in it.

As the guy in itv news just said...even if it doesn't happen, some irreparable damage has already been done to the game

I’m not in favour of this ESL proposal, but the self serving righteous indignation from Sky is nauseating
Yep absolutely! They are leading the debate in the UK about the ESL because they know, they are off the table and face losing huge amounts. The hypocrisy is staggering & it'll be the same with BT Sport too. I, like yourself and seemingly every man and his dog, don't want this - I enjoy the PL & CL (to a lesser extent tbh), but I'm a realist and know that if I continue to follow this club, & I absolutely intend to do so, then I have to accept what the club does regardless of my personal opinion. The minute I stop that, I'll walk away. Football exists for me as a Spurs fan first & foremost.

Have a gaviscon mate.
Do you not understand that this proposal would kill football as we know it? And regardless of if it goes ahead or doesn’t the fall out and ramifications are going to potentially be massive.

These 6 clubs ours included have utterly fucked what was a perfectly fine sport. Yes money was dominating it too much but this closed shop ESL idea goes against everything football is about, if you can’t see that or don’t care about that then I feel sorry for you genuinely.

90% of fans are against it, the 10% are not proper fans of the game and have no care or understanding.

All the indignation from Sky is merely about protecting their investment and profits.

Everyone is at it. Same with UEFA, corrupt as hell, they earn billions from the top 6 clubs and all. The pandemic has made these clubs realise actually their revenue streams are really precarious and they've had enough. They want to be in control of their own commercials.
