I've had Sky Sports News on for the first time in ages for the last 22 mins. My word, this is nauseating.

The absolute cheek of them to be this annoyed, making backhanded comments. If it wasn't for them, we wouldn't be in this position. Their "passion" is for their own pockets, they dont give a shit about the fans or the clubs any more than Florentino fucking Perez
Sky aren't great but I don't think you can single-handedly blame them. What about the players, the agents, the clubs being bought out by investment firms with only their shareholders to appease? At least PL football has been competitive and a meritocracy. All that will go if the ESL goes forward in its current guise.

Rather than being over the top, the fallout has encouraged me. We won’t give up football without a fight.

If we weren’t involved and this was accepted without a fight we would be raging. Let’s not pretend otherwise.

I’ll add that I don’t particularly blame Levy for this. He has to act in the best interests of the club first and foremost, and his decision here is in line with that, albeit not without risk - I suspect that this will end with a rejigged CL that doesn’t benefit us - and when the new system permits qualification based on factors outside league performance we can hardly complain can we? We’ve lost the moral high ground.

The fightback is encouraging but tbh it has been incredibly disappointing and disheartening to see our own fans take the stance of "we are better to be in it than out of it"

I can't quite comprehend the fact we could be voted out the Premier League by the 14 other clubs today.

And to say, "it won't happen, they won't have the bottle" is just arrogance. They absolutely could and I would be heartbroken.

If they don't then the six clubs treat the Prem as a joke and place the whole thing in disrepute as soon as we start playing the under 9s against Fulham who need a win to stay up over Sheffield. All leverage would be lost and the Premier League would be beholden to handouts and the mercy of ESL teams.

If they do kick us out then it fucks us up nicely and the boards of the Six will be fucked off right out of town within hours. Integrity is restored.Yes they'd take a kicking financially but that's something which would be gradually recoverable to some extent. And it would preserve leverage against this nonsense.

Imagine Liverpool get kicked out of the Premier League. Their fans would burn down the stadium.

I think Everton did the right thing speaking up, even if I think there is some hypocrisy there. They have a duty to feed into this movement against it, even if they don't carry the same clout as a PSG or Bayern.

All it will take is a couple of big-hitters to back out and it'll be a house of cards.

You're right but....... there's a massive but............

Not that you were suggesting it but that's got nothing to do with the rathole Levy's sunk us into. I'm WAY less worried about the way the game has gone right now because that doesn't make this right.

The justifications, the well played Levy, rather in than out..........What we were, where we are, all of it. What he's doing NOW is disgusting. I couldn't care less where we were, the progress, the stadium, fuck all of it. Look at what he's doing now. Now. No offsetting, no yeah but Levy did this or that........These people, all of these owners, they need to be held responsible, not have excuses made for them, not have stuff thrown in mitigation that's got absolutely nothing to do with what he's doing right now.

Which, if people still aren't clear, is feathering his and ENIC's nest and telling the rest of football to do one. And as for the argument that football is greedy anyway, yes it is, but again, that doesn't make THIS right, none of it does.

UEFA corrupt? Yes, but so what? FIFA? Bent as fuck, again, so what? In what universe does that make this right? If they condemn this, yeah, they might be called hypocrites but point out to me please where that means they are wrong. To save you the time, don't bother. You can't. All this irrelevant bumfluff, he's got a cheek, well, they are greedy, this, that, the other. It's bollocks and none of it address this. It's fucking WRONG.

There's a way of having this happen. And it'll probably happen eventually, but it needs to be done the right way.

Anyway, I promised myself i'd wait to have my rant until more is known but i haven't slept for almost two days so fuck it, have a bad tempered rant instead. Oh and Levy? haha, "He's played a blinder" your mums great big hairy, pimply arse. He should fuck off and hand the keys over to someone who doesn't have the morals of a polecat.

I get that though - even I have mixed feelings about this. It is nice to see our name up there with the elite clubs. It just shouldn’t be like this.

PL needs 15 clubs to agree

I think they need one more vote to do that actually.

Club can't afford to buy anyone so we'll make a competition so we can.

So if uefa bring forward there new plans for CL this would all end?

Yet if they were invited in they’d jump at the chance. They’d be lying to say otherwise.

Edit: I see others have said the same. They aren’t fooling anyone.

Alot of you are really missing the point here. Yes there is hypocrisy from Sky, Everton, Neville whoever, but you do realise that there is a bigger, more immediate threat on the way? Sweet fucking Jesus.

Spot on. Even if you win this super league why would you even care. It hasn't got the history a European Cup does. Are Liverpool gonna claim a 7th if they win it. Its stupid.
A good point mate. I'll add though that some... some who are crying blue murder about the history of the sport are the same rank hypocrites who denounce the League Cup and F.A Cup as some mickey mouse Cup. I'm sure clubs themselves do it too. These are 2 of our most treasured historical comps yet are now treated as shit. Its partly this type of thinking that has infected the game in our country and has gone a way to devalue it, favouring the CL and the money it brings. I'd be gutted if we couldn't play in the F.A Cup anymore, nevermind the Premier league.

Rather be in our position than trying to take a moral position while owned by Usmanov, the hypocrisy is terrifying.
