We got 100 points and Ireland 119 - right side of the table (left side though of course) so not at all bad, compared with last year.
Haha, boos for Cyprus giving 12 pts to Greece.
Sorry dude, it seems like I did spark a late run on Switzerland and Hungary. You should have checked at the last minute, I got money on Az just before it closed. :lol:Should have put money on them :-( And not listen to Lanh!
Is Azerbaijan in Europe?
I know, i know, im clutching at straws here.
Remind me to listen to the winning song one day.
Turkey, Russia and those countries who used to be part of the USSR are officially designated as Eurasian nowadays, rather than European or Asian.
However, there are countries like Israel who take part who are most definitely in Asia but the criteria for entry is membership of the European Broadcasting Union and there are more than 200 member countries of the Union who can take part on that basis if they wish to.
I've honestly never ranted about the voting before, but last night was a complete joke....we love to rant about the voting, don't we!
No, http://www.ebu.ch/en/ebu_members/actives/index.php 74 members from 56 countries.....there are more than 200 member countries of the Union who can take part on that basis if they wish to.
Yeah that isn't the clearest information, even the eurovision page isn't all that clear about the situation, though it does have the correct figures. Not according to Wikipedia though. The Eurovision Song Contest is mentioned in the article. Confusing...
