Even though it's his birthday today, Fabio Capello phoned with congratulations for the players
England boss Stuart Pearce

What the hell? What relevence should his birthday have in phoning to make a quick congratulations for the U21's success? I wonder if I would get a sympathetic response to coming into work on my birthday. God forbid should that happen. Those sort of comments really piss me off. Does anyone else feel the same?

I don't see why it's an issue that Pearce said that, it was the evening of his birthday, most people might be having a meal with the family or that, but he rang the players to congratulate them, which is nice and I'm sure appreciated by the players.

Why should his birthday be an issue? Or why should he need to say it? The U21's are the future of England and also will be an extremely important part of the squad come next year, so it's not like he's doing something over and beyond what his job entails. Well done for congratulating your players on getting a good result Fabio.

You cant blame the Fab man for this! Like you said hes doing his job, its knobhead Pearce's fault for bringing it up.

I paid the council tax on my birthday. And my TV license. Gotta take care of business.

No, not Fab's fault. I just find it incredible that the BBC quote Pearce on this and publish the quote on their website in the 'stand out quote' on the website which is eccentricated to make out he's gone above and beyond the call of duty by making a 2 minute phonecall (if that!) just because it's his fucking birthday.

Meh just something to report. its nice that he took the time out to congratulate the U-21's as you say its not over and above what his role is but still he took the time to say well done to them so fair play.
not to mention some of the u-21's may of never have spoken to him before (maybe - i dont know?) so that would of been cool for them and the fact he did it on his birthday - a day he (again as someone else said) could of been doing family stuff makes it worth mentioning.
But I can see why you think its a pointless story. on another note why on earth did you change your font?
