Christ, someones a bit precious.

I'll just start off by saying that i've got nothing against American people or owners. Didn't even slag them off so I don't know why you've just gone off on my post. I just don't think we've had any successful ones over here yet. The Glazers came over and absolutely saddled the club with debt, but they had Fergie so obviously they were going to continue to win trophies and be successful while he was there. Since he's gone they've been a mess with absolutely no direction or clear plan from the top down, just throwing money about at players. Their academy has stagnated and they've dropped from 1st to possibly 5th.

Don't think Kroenke's really done anything for Arsenal either. Their fans absolutely hate him as he does nothing yet sucks out millions from the club every year.

Sunderland are a fucking terrible mess. Don't give a shit about Newcastle as I never claimed that English chairmen are better than Americans.

Gillette and Hicks were one of the worst things that's ever happened to Liverpool. FSG haven't really changed much, they back the manager with funds so credit to them for that but they've certainly not been successful.
Some of the American owners in the PL arent fairing much better with their American teams. I hate Dr Creepy bc of the red sox so fsg only makes my hatred for liverpool stronger. FSG hasnt been that great lately for the red sox though anyway.

Kroenke is a shitty owner for american franchises too. Seriously, this guy takes the Rams out of LA and brings them to St Louis only to bring them back to LA 20 years later.

The Glazers pretty much suck in America also. The Bucs have been a shit show ever since Gruden won the SB for them.

Palace just took investment from the owners of the biggest trainwreck in the NBA.

Oh and I wish Everton luck with Moores:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Dont know much about the new investors in Bournemouth from Chicago. Pretty sure this is their first forray into sports

I was reading Stan Kroenke wiki and it says none of his teams have one their respective championships since taking ownership. Is this true? And if it is Hahahaha @ Arsenal

Pinstripes here too. The mixing of soxerpool is the stuff of dreams. Don't even have to split my hate.

You ahve the 76ers pegged but missing out on the Devils which have stunk since Harris as well. I'm a blueshirt so I couldn't care less.

But yeah these guys are just bad owners like any bad owners. Their nation of origin has nothing to do with it. It did scare me when it was reported dan snyder made googlie-eyes toward spurs though. Unlike many owners he does re-invest all the money back into his team he likes to have his fingers in the pie. Everybody wants to be "the boss".

Im blueshirts also. Devils are just nothing to me anymore. Out of sight, out of mind. Isles are infuriating me lately though but their arena fiascos is the stuff of comedy gold. The barn was disgusting and the move to Barclays has been a complete shitshow. Warms the heart.

Not entirely. He purchased a 30% stake in the Rams which helped move them to St Louis in the first place and became their chairman in the process. They won the Super Bowl in 99. He became the majority owner about 5 or 6 years ago though.

Which US owners have been successful here? Glazers/Gillette-Hicks/FSG/Randy Lerner have all pretty much failed miserably.

Martinez is an absolute fraud. Couldn't organise a defence to save his life. He was bragging a couple weeks ago about how he has the best young talent in Europe, while he had them 12th in the league.

His first season he benefited from Moyes' defensive organisation still having an influence (his first season Everton conceded 39 goals, compared with 40 in both of Moyes' last two). They conceded 50 last season and will concede more this season.

Metalhead

But that's a debate for another thread.....

What is the difference between a 'fraud' and someone who is incompetent?

I'm not sure what's worse, being a plaything of billionaire gangsters and oil barons or an investment property for cold-eyed businessmen. Spurs are owned by billionnaires but at least they're fans and local boys. (I know Joe Lewis lives in the Bahamas now but he does still keep a flat over a kebab shop in Haringey.)
