There's no cohesion at all in this team, which is kinda understandable when you bring in so many new players. However, I felt at the time they were signing the wrong players. You've got Rooney and Siggy who only function so well when they are the main man or the '10'. Therefore the result is two players who are either getting each others way or completely failing to link up. Secondly, they have a serious lack of intensity in that team. Thirdly, if they thought they could operate with a 'false 9' then they failed to realise that this means you need a front three who provide lots of movement - something Siggy and this version of Rooney are not renown for.

Quite a few of us on here had concerns - due to our previous experiences - about this scatter-gun recruitment approach and it's certainly not looking good for them.

Wouldn't be surprised to see fat head be the next to go. Everton look completely lost right now.

Absolutely. And not just that. You can't really see how they will find their way. The pieces just don't fit.

they are adrift at the moment. so many new players will take time to sort out. It will be a 6 team competition this year.

Whatever the results this season stick with Koe man and get Marco Silva next summer.

Might turn out to be their Pochettino signing.

To be fair their first 5 PL games are brutal and doesn't really allow them to pick up some confidence, and form

However, as I said earlier in this thread, their lack of goalscorers is a serious problem for them. They needed to be smarter when thinking about replacing Lukaku. Sandro looks like a good back up striker and at 22 years old he's one for the future. But it's a lot of pressure to put on a new recruit from Spain, expecting him to fit straight in and start scoring. Off the top of my head, I might have taken a gamble on someone like Josh King, all things considered. But I'm sure there are better options out there.

They should have been going all out for Mousa Dembele.

No pace, no game plan, no cohesion and no confidence - they remind me of us when we went on that splurge in 2013 - bought a load of attacking mids and no real method to replace Bale's goals, well swap Bale with Lukaku and this is Tottenham under AVB part 2, can't see Koeman turning this around any time soon.

Incredibly average side with no confidence. One of their best players last year in Tom Davies sitting on the bench. Play the guy! Watched the game and Besic was dreadful, as was Schneiderlin, and yet Davies cant even get on the bench!

I think he's played a few games and hasn't been playing well so far. He was subbed after 60 minutes against City and at half time against Chelsea. And he was brought on at half time against us and didn't do much. He's only young though so it's to be expected. Everton have had a pretty tough start to the season, I guess they'll start to improve once the Man Utd game is out of the way.

Proof, if any was needed, that spending boatloads of cash guarantees absolutely nothing. Lukaku was the only one who frightened their opponents.

After praising them all window for spending loads of money and buying players, Jim White and his mates were sticking the knife icon talksport this morning. Just illustrating how they just follow an agenda now saying they bought all the same players. Basically what anyone sensible had been saying all summer. ie. not them!

It's not the amount of money they've spent it's the type of players. There starters are Klassen, Siggy and Rooney. All static no 10 who have a very similar skillset. Not one of them can dribble, run at pace or use a bit of flair to create an opening. In fact quite similar to our Ams, not having a dribbler leaves you open to only having one way to attack which is through good off the ball movement.

Yep really tough set of fixtures, killed their confidence. There's so much luck involved in the fixture lists.

You look at Utd's opening 5 fixtures and you have to say it's perfect for building confidence, Lukaku scoring from the off and building on that. I wonder what the situation would be had Utd or City had Everton's opening fixtures.

City:

Brighton (A) Won
Everton (H) Drew
Bournemouth (A)
Liverpool (H)
Watford (A) Won

UTD:
West Ham (H)
Swansea (A)
Leicester (H)
Stoke (A)
Everton (H)
