I think Skipp started because he had seniority - nothing more nefarious than that. Its hard to complain when the manager gives an academy graduate a start in the PL.

Now, I think Sarr offers more than Skipp - but I won't quibble with that kind of decision at this point in their careers.
That's what I meant, I could have made it clearer.

It wasn't necessarily atrocious.

Palace always apply some pressure at home. We started fine and were just not getting that final move right whixh was a theme earlier in the season.

Then palace started to swing balls in and focus on getting into cut back scenarios and we had issues adapting to it.

I think Conte tasked Gil with waiting inside a bit more as opposed to staying on the wing and it meant we could switch play better.
I noticed Kane dropping deeper today too

Atrocious was hyperbolic but I felt it was a typical Spurs display this season in that it lack energy and aggression

Now I can reflect I think the goal changed everything. The confidence started to come as Palaces deteriorated and we dominated crucial spaces

I'm sure it's been mentioned in here - but we all saw Conte's reaction when Bryan came off - don't tell me Conte does not care about this team, or his players.

Feels different.

Probably because we weren't losing in the first place. But yeah such a confident, dominant performance in the second half
First time we haven't conceded first in ten games

Goals change games, and going in front must have felt nice for a change, as opposed to chasing...been a while

Anyone else think conte is starting to accept and even relish the idea of bringing young players through snd building something long term as opposed to immediate success with established stars?

Can you imagine if we actually backed conte.

say buy Porro, skriniar and mudryk. Pay whatever it takes even if it is a bit over the top.

it would transform us.

this is the type of quality we need.
Like it's not even rocket science or reading ancient glyphs. What's so hard for Levy to understand right? ?‍♂️ Just back Conte to improve on the strength in depth and we can be properly challenging on many fronts without worries of injuries, fatigue or non-working formation/personnel. This is arguably such an easy club to manage in a sense. Is really really frustrating everyone is losing sleep over the easiest solution - money.

Why do we have to comment from the hip? How do we know what's going on on the inside? I'm no fan of Dl but let's see how it pans out come 31st Jan.

Last night's game changes nothing. The same shit show behind the scenes remains with the need to back Conte absolutely critical. All results like last night will do is make it that little bit harder for Levy to try justify why Conte didn't stay but I'm sure we'll see more anti training leaks in coming days and possibly leaks over man management etc as Levy will need to bring out all the big guns to hurt Contes standing with fans.

Why do we have to comment from the hip?
Because they are wild beasts of men. Hard drinking and even harder playing, with long windswept hair and unkept beards, wearing lumberjack shirts and living a viking lifestyle.

They roar loudly into the night, they howl like wolves and they lose themselves in a lager frenzy.

Except on Mondays when they walk their pet poodle, Susan.

I find all this hysteria embarrassing, quite frankly. All the top clubs are inconsistent this season, thanks to the disruption of that travesty of a blood money world cup. In the same way that Jose's tenure was overshadowed by the pandemic. Can we just stop having a tantrum every 5 mins?

I can only imagine the state of this place after we get cuffed by Arsenal...

Tbh it’s more the case that this crap has been going on for YEARS. It feels like a bit of a tipping point as Conte is a proven manager and performed well in the latter part of last season. This year Arsenal looking cohesive and top of the table has added more bite. We see many spending big and now even teams like Newcastle on the gravy train so ppl are acutely aware that our situation is precarious. If we don’t want to be left behind then we can’t dither. We must be decisive and stick to a proper plan. Also, Presently it also feels that football is less important to our owners than the other business opportunities they have.
The level of kickback is noticeable but this has been brewing for some time.

I don’t think conte is the problem he is the solution!
We just need 3-4 players long term and 2-3 short term.
Gil, Sarr, skipp are not the issue it’s our shite defence if we upgraded Emmeson and Sanchez to really good players our squad would be a lot stronger.

We have good young prospects

4 left backs
3 right backs
Plus most of our most experience signings on loan cause we can’t sell
Them.

We are only 2-3 signings from being descent if players can find from

The hysteria after the Villa defeat was very similar to the hysteria after defeat to Burnley last season, then the good old Sun came up with this story , if Ralph had taken over we would probably be bottom of the league by now.

Backing him does not guarantee you anything better than you have at the moment*, and certainly not top 4 or league titles and trophies - so why pay over the odds and risk finances? Levy is all about carefully managing the money, not overspending and maximising the return on capital invested..

* I do however agree that if your overriding aim is to win something then backing a manager like Conte gives you the best chance.
