The table doesn’t lie. We’re 4th and they’re not so so far this season we are better than them. Everything else is irrelevant.Of course it’s relevant!
If Liverpool and Chelsea were having seasons comparable to their usual standard, you’d have an argument, but they’re not, they’ve been absolutely woeful this season!
So saying we’re only fourth because of their performance drop offs is a VERY fair argument!
This suits him now one game a week. Doesn’t really need to manage his squad just use the best players available each game no rotation required.
Who cares that we won? Real Spurs fans ALWAYS care how we do.Or he's not being fickle like some in this thread. Honestly, some posters here are quick to throw out neg ratings on people who maintain Conte isn't the right man regardless of a win over a shitty Forest. It's clear to anyone he's not the right fit, isn't going to commit to the long-term, and simply isn't what we need. And yet people like you have to have a dig at people being consistent. Who cares if we beat Forest? It doesn't take away from the shit football or going out of three cups against very beatable opposition. He has a worse record than AVB and is playing even worse football. One win doesn't take away from that.
Good point we could have a strong end to the season now like last year when we went out of all cups, does show that conte for some reason struggles with 2 games a week more than most managers do, it’s certainly a weakness of his. This suits him now one game a week. Doesn’t really need to manage his squad just use the best players available each game no rotation required.
Yeah but if Arsenal, City and Utd weren't doing so well we would be topWouldn’t have a chance on 4th, if Liverpool and chelsea hadn’t been so terrible this year. Not all on Conte
Back to back is impressive with us. Imagine getting 4 top 4 finishes in a row!!!If conte stays and gets us top 4 I don't think we could say he has been a failure. Back to back 4th is impressive in this league
Well said. I do think we have invested heavily in wing backs. So, I do wonder if they will err toward a manager like Anorim who players a similar formation, albeit in a more offensive manner.Pragmatically, keeping Conte for the rest of the season is probably our best chance for Top 4.
But Levy and Paratici need to have our next manager lined up well before the season ends. It needs to be a planned and seamless transition. We can’t find ourselves in July and not yet have a manager appointed.
Quick and efficient? I wish. Levy is an indecisive, authoritarian, micromanaging twat. I fully expect another shit show search. Hopefully we don't end up with another Nuno.Pragmatically, keeping Conte for the rest of the season is probably our best chance for Top 4.

disagree. only getting top 4 is far from good enough for this seasonWell said. I do think we have invested heavily in wing backs. So, I do wonder if they will err toward a manager like Anorim who players a similar formation, albeit in a more offensive manner.
Though that would require logical, long term planning. So, I guess it will just depend on how Levy feels on the day.
I will say this though… if Conte gets us finishing 4th, in both his season in charge, he deserves credit. Because this season, like last, all the opposition fans and pundits think we are utter cack. And yet… two CL qualifications in a row tells a different story.
We're 4th because of our results in the 27 games so far and not because we just beat forest at home.Happy we won but I'm not getting overly excited about our top 4 chances. Forest have won 1 away game all season, scoring 4 goals and conceding 32.
Exactly this, I’m sure it’s not a coincidence that he won the league with Chelsea the season they had no European commitments. For that reason alone, you’d have to say, he’s not cut out to be Spurs managerGood point we could have a strong end to the season now like last year when we went out of all cups, does show that conte for some reason struggles with 2 games a week more than most managers do, it’s certainly a weakness of his.
I think to sign a manager because they play wing backs would be foolish. Perisic and Sess are probably players we will be looking to move on for different reasons. Meaning we would only have Porro as a wing back. But I think players are adaptable. I don’t see it being a problem if Porro plays as a RB or even further forward.Well said. Eh? We are currently 4th, 2 behind United who have a game in hand and have to visit us (our home form has been fairly decent recently).Happy we won but I'm not getting overly excited about our top 4 chances. Forest have won 1 away game all season, scoring 4 goals and conceding 32.
I’m sure that is currently the case and makes the most sense. I will still say tho that if we start loosing badly and consistently he will leave sooner. Also, if he does see out the season there is zero excuse to not have his replacement lined up for the day after he leaves.
