Going from incisive dynamic counter attacking football where we've scored for fun to this utter shite is mind boggling
It is mind boggling. My only take is that it just reinforces the reality that despite the good run, there still exists the weaknesses that could never be ironed out too quickly.

Fucking hell he's as bad and as slow as Poch and Jose were at changing things when we need a bit of a kick up the hole.

So frustrating seeing us just prick around with it at the back for a few passes, hit to a wing back, nothing on, back the other way. So boring and predictable. Nothing in midfield. Absolutely nothing. Hojbjerg and Bentancur getting the ball to feet is pointless because there is nothing on.

He's meant to be this amazing coach, top 5 in the world for what he gets out of his teams, but he's getting zero from us the last 180 minutes. Needs a rocket up his own hole, not just the players.

He changed his set up when he lost to the scums when he was at chelscum and went on to be invincible. Perhaps he will do the same this time round as we will be facing the scums soon.

Oh wait. But that's too late.

We were missing one first team player today who most of us, myself included, wanted gone for most the season. Brentford on the other hand were missing several key players, especially in defence, yet we couldn’t manage a single shot on target and were very much second best for most the match. We also are supposedly trying to get top 4, although you wouldn’t know it if you watched the last 180 mins of football. Conte has to take a large portion of the blame here. Obviously this is only two games but there’s really nothing positive, however small, one can take from our performance.

I feel conte is vastly overrated.

His best achievement was winning the league with Chelsea but that club have had incredible players for 2 decades now, sometimes the players throw the toys out of the pram and refuse to play for a manager and then when they like one, they raise there game and end up winning a major trophy. It has been the Chelsea way.

Winning league titles with Juve in that period was like anyone winning a league with PSG in france. It really is nothing to shout about.

He won the league with Inter last year when the chairmen gave them a very strong squad which also coincided with Juve falling off a cliff. The Italian league is also quite poor these days.

The good results we have had so far this season was more to do with Kane putting in incredible performances. This has been his only tactic hope Kane bales him out with his incredible link up play.

Conte has been a massive let down.

To be fair he's only a few months in.

He's inherited a frankenstein squad with systematic issues.

Impossible to cure that without a pre season and a couple transfer windows.

Klopps Liverpool were bang average for a fair while!

When it comes down to it nobody, but nobody thought we would get top four at the start of the season. To expect him to make us anything other than a good team with a couple of stand out players is wildly optimistic.

Thats fine but there is no flexibility, no plan b, and he is not utilising the players he has now. Always the same formation, no changes being made to tactics when clearly things arent working well. He has not tried enough different strategies.

liverpool werent as toothless as we are now though. We have had many games where didnt create chances.

I don’t think we can question Conte’s credentials, but his game management really has been bewildering.

It just seems like he’s stubbornly making a point with the selection of Emerson and failure to sub him off!

I just don’t get it! ??

A lot of coaches have an enormous belief in their system and won't change/compromise on it.

What plan B do you want against a team that sits deep and tries to play on the counter? What could we do with our current squad that would break down an organized defense?

I'm not turning on Conte or anything at all to be fair and I also won't criticise his approach and way of playing until he has the players he wants. You can also easily say that it's his input that's had us forget just how bad some of these players really are. My frustrations only really stem from not changing things during a match when it so evidently isn't working. Really feels like we've wasted the last two games by sticking with something that clearly isn't going to get us anywhere and the signs of that have come incredibly early in matches, so it's been what feels like a lot of just watching the clock go by.

Think people need to reign it in here.

By all means criticise tactics in recent games but come on, he's still an elite manager so have to stop this short termism knee jerk suggesting he can "fuck off".

Clearly he has a picture of who is patently not good enough to be here next season and the plans have been in place for weeks for recruitment which will be extensive. Will be a much different picture next season as opposed to inheriting a bunch of misfits without a proper pre season to condition and mould them into his way of thinking.

Eriksen was asked by Jamie redknapp in an interview how do you stop Kane and son and his answer was "easy" and then laughed. We have been found out and need this world class manager to come up with a plan B.

I mean it has to be hard playing with Royal as your attacking partner. He’s basically the entire right side by himself and teams can put 3 men on him because Royal can’t even fucking pass when left wide open. Put a competent footballer next to him and we’ve seen how good he is.
You say that but Deki played well when Doherty was playing LWB and Royal RWB. This narrative that Royal is the route of all our problems is not entirely true. Yes Royal is bad, and is a negative, but one player missing should not cause the rest of the team to fall apart. Deki has been a complete ghost last two games. That’s not to say Kane or Son were much better, but Deki was poor.
