How many midweek games has Conte won since he joined us? Inter fans all complained that he was terrible at preparing for 2 games in the space of a week. I can’t recall us winning a midweek game under him? His first game in charge maybe?

So I’ve counted about 14 posters who have said it’s time for Conte to go. Honestly what is wrong with people. Yes we can criticise last nights performance but why the need to go all this over the top.

It’s pretty much the same players that we have had for years that are continuously letting us down.

Sess, Davies, Doherty, PEH and Winks are all players who are easily upgradable. 5 out of the 11 is a big chunk of the team.
Trouble is the team requires a turnaround of a number of players but this summer will probably only bring in 3/4 which is nowhere near enough.
We are set for a real struggle over the coming years certainly not something I'm looking forward to

Why are so many people infatuated by Graham Potter?

We have a proven world-class manager now.
Because despite the managerial merry-go -round our club’s become obsessed with over the last few years, we still have a completely shit bleached squad of players but addressing this has been far too problematic in the last three or four years. Conte can only rely on a few players to actually consistently turn up and he can’t play them with the same intensity every game or they burn out or get injured, hence the regular shift in playing style. But people look at this as a managerial issue and think someone else, some other manager will walk in and fix it, when they won’t because a massive overhaul is needed. If Conte isn’t sufficiently backed in the summer, we are spent as a force for some time coming

Agree. Completely. But we can’t hire a manager that needs a Chelsea squad or inter Milan squad. When we have what we have. It’s the wrong appointment. We needed a slow build back with the crap we have. Throwing conte in for 18 months is bonkers.

But we are trying to shortcut that by bringing conte in. Levy needs a strong manager like him to tell it how it is an sort the squad out. If not levy will run roughshod over the manager like normal. Conte is the right man. I think that will be borne out over time but it’s going to take a while to sort this out.

Lloris, walker, alderweireld, vertonghen, rose, wants a, dembele, eriksen, son, dele, Kane. That was our strongest team of recent times. Our first XI is currently nowhere near that side.

His stubbornness with his formation is doing us more harm then good.

We have to call it as it is, if it was Nuno or Jose they would be getting slaughtered.

Recent results have been horrendous & he simply has to change something …
Changing the formation will do nothing it's the personnel that's the problem. He even changed it last night and we got arguably worse defensively.

Agree but he has limited options currently. I don't think a 4 at the back will work - we are not strong enough defensively. So I think it is still a 5. I don't think that any of the back 3 have done anything wrong to warrant being dropped for Sanchez or Rodon.

He needs to get a 3rd player in midfield to match teams up or to overpower teams in the middle and ideally we need some creativity. I still think Kulu could do that role - he is strong, calm on the ball and aware of what is happening around him. Bentancur and Skipp are missed for sure.

The thing to consider is what we can do with the full backs. Emerson adds nothing going forward, Doherty is more dangerous going forward but lacks consistency in delivery, Reggie is not great defensively and can't seem to deliver decent crosses or opportunities and Sess is probably the most astute of all of them but lacks confidence in his own ability. I do like Sess and the only way to get him to be more confident is by playing him and showing trust. I would stick with him on the left as he shows glimpses of being capable.

I would like to try Bergwijn or Kulu at right wing back. Both have engines and both actually have a brain so when we do go forward they may use the ball intelligently.

Unfortunately though you cannot polish a turd and that turd is the middle of the pitch. Again we are so limited in there with what we have at our disposal. Holjberg cannot play on the turn so if he faces our back 3 and receives the ball it inevitably goes back or sideways. He runs around like a headless chicken the rest of the time. Winks is more aware but lacks tenacity and dynamism. He is targeted by teams who employ a press. Neither of these 2 can dictate a game. Bentancur can I think so the sooner he is back the better.

Even by Spurs usual standards this is a bonkers rollercoaster.

I’m starting to properly question my support of the club for the first time in over 30 years. I just can’t be fucked with the constant disappointment and being let down. I’m really starting to question my own intelligence investing my own emotions, time and money into this club. It’s results like that (again) that makes me think the club is making mugs of us all. I know it’s not good for me so why do I do it?

I can’t believe what I am seeing. Some of the same people criticising Conte are the same ones that rate Winks and PEH etc

When will some learn our squad is full of shite that wouldn’t look out of place in the championship.

We have losers throughout the squad and it’s been constant bad recruitment.

Yes Son and Kane were poor too but unfortunately they are every bit as responsible as the other players. Same with Lloris. They let the side down time and again, weak mentality. Kanes a wonderful player but it has to be said he goes missing so often. He was wonderful against Leeds who were one game away from the sack and gave him lots of space, but today he was useless. Wanting too much time on the ball. Poor touches. And Son was unforgivable? He is far too inconsistent, but the problem with our squad is there is such a lack of depth in the squad we also have nobody of quality to step in because Levy doesn’t spend the money.

As Conte says there is a mixture of a weak mentality throughout the club and a lack of technical ability for many many players

The new signings look good but we are still one to three windows away at least from really changing the squad.

If you want to blame anyone blame Levy and Hitchen for the mess we are in.

It's not great when we have less time to prepare. I expect us to be fully prepped for every single game for the remainder of the season now there's no other distractions

Don't know if this has been posted, and I don't know if this is worrying or whether we just need the full pre season with him to get the players up to the required fitness level and tactical understanding.

How long before people start blaming the club and the players instead of blaming/changing managers
all we do is blame Levy and the players though really, Jose and Nuno were also obviously bad and had to go. Poch in the end i dont recall too much what the percentage was, i was definitely on the keep poch sell everyone else side

I honestly can't believe what I'm reading here after last night. Whatever problems we have here, Conte IS the solution. And in terms of our problems they are simply that we can struggle to break down teams who play a low block. We can beat teams who attack - with panache. But the teams who are solid and hit on the counter we struggle with. That doesn't mean we need wholesale changes to the squad. Many of our players will still be here next season (and will do well). But we do need some players.

For example. Peak Eriksen and peak Dembele would add 10-15 points to this team because they would add the flair we miss when trying to break the low block. Ideally we need someone on the right to match the old Walker and depending on how quickly sessengon and reggie develop, maybe we also need someone on the left. Add a centre back and we'll see more goals and less conceded. That's 3-5 players to strengthen this team into top 4 challengers...Conte will see to it that they become title challengers too, maybe with an extra season.

In the meantime, we will ride the rollacoaster. COYS
